Because someone brought him up and asked what did posters think of him.

Riddler is manic, egotistical, obnoxious, psychotic, unlikeable...and this guy coud play him perfectly, Toby Stephens!

Nice video. He doesn't like acting against nothing(nothing to interact with onset) and he said himself, he doesn't believe in his ability to do it.

Maybe he'd agree to be Batman if the director used practical effects. :yay:

Maybe, but even with Nolan's Batman, the most "grounded" and practical effect using one he would probably not be interested in; lus the fact there are plenty of Bat-rogues who's threats would most likely end up not being able to be done in a practical, or WB would find non-practical more in their budget.

I suppose if they don't use villains where CGI would be needed he'd be pretty keen on the role.

When they do The Joker again that's going to be another actor directly facing him. Even if they have to do green screens there will probably be other actors involved.

I personally think Batman suits him down to the ground.

I'm with a few others and really hoping Clayface can make it into a movie. I actually wanted to see what Nolan would do with him in the worst way. IMO he would have been the perfect director for a character like that.

The thing is that I don't want the big clay monster but more of a master of disguise. I wouldn't mind a puddy faced human that can mold his face or body but the monster cheapens the character IMO.

Don't get me wrong.... I want a fantastical character too. Just not a Clayface thats going to turn his hand into a giant hammer. I'm fine with him forming himself into different humans or even a more advanced Clayface taking off his arm to make other Clayfaces but the monster takes fantasical into hoaky.

Ehhh, I want the monster. He doesn't have to be a huge monster like in Arkham City, but like a leaner version from The Batman animated series from '04. No need to ground him THAT much.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sam Witwer as Bruce Wayne. He has the right blend of darkness and light without being a Bale clone. He's also a good actor who I could see complimenting Cavill's Superman.

I rather like it, and I don't see what's so "hokey" about it compared to him ripping his hand off to make other Clayfaces.

Which is your favorite Clayface?

I see what's hokey about it: it ignores the conservation of mass, there is no discernable locomotion or brain function, he just simply and suddenly works as a being with individual control over each particle of his body. That's pretty hokey, if all that happens is someone spilled some chemicals o him.

That said, I prefer him as the monster, let them come up with some suitable technobabble to explain him, build him up well, maybe even start him as the master of disguise version and let him evolve throughout the film til the final climax with the Batman. I'd even cast a talented actor known for being a bad actor, someone like Nicholas Cage, to round out the idea.

It'd be interesting if this time it was all about those meta-human villains, your Killer Crocs, Clayfaces, Mister Freezes, Man Bats, Solomon Grundies, Poison Ivys and so forth. Could be awesome. As for casting: Terry Crews, Nic Cage, Edward Norton, Christopher Walken, Brock Lesnar and Eva Green respectively.

But Travesty's point is that that's no more hokey than him being able to rip his arm off to make a copy of himself. That sounds way less plausible to me. Once his arm has been disconnected from his body and brain, how does he control it?

I like your conservation of mass point, though, and hope future directors take it into consideration.

Oh, you're right, that is what he said. Well, I agree that those two things are equally hokey, I guess I was comparing him to other more mundane characters.

It seems like we are all missing an obvious choice.

Even more obvious than the Fass.

Cage as Clayface... I can dig it. But only if he never disrobes before a gunfight.

Keep. Cage. Away.

But Matt Hagen is a washed up actor with crappy roles trying so desperately to keep up with Hollywood's demands...so it would be a parody of Cage's life :lmao:

You mean it would be the exact opposite of Cage... because he is awesome... and the best... and never disrobes before a gunfight (sorry to keep repeating that, but thought of Cage and have Drive Angry in my head)

i feel like a lot of names for superhero roles repeat. Cavill was up for Superman and Batman right? One leftover name from the last Superman casting was Joe Manganiello.
