The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 2

I would have thought the " :oldrazz: " would have displayed the humorous nature of my post.

It did ^^. Which is why I wasn't trying to be harsh to you. I know you were being playful. There are, unfortunately, people who are too picky about actor choices and never give them a chance.

An american sounding Alfred would make a lot more sense than a British one. People tend to lose their accents over time and adapt the local accent. Hence if Alfred was living with the Waynes for a very long time (before Bruce's childhood, and well into his adult hood), then Alfred should have an American accent. No? :P OOPs i just found a huge mistake in all the batman movies, my bad ^^.

The accent is just associated with the manservant. He can kind of put the American hero in his place with that upper crust snark. Like Iron Man and Jarvis.

It would be really interesting if they can pull off that 'upper crust snark' without the English accent. A true challenge for an actor.

I only now just realized, and I posted something about this in the "After Nolan's trilogy" thread, that I really don't want another Batman movie any time soon. Why rush into rebooting when these movies (which ranged from very good to great) are still so fresh? So, my idea for a Batman reboot... is someone who isn't even really on the grid right now.

What I would Like to See in the Reboot(my Redo).

Batman: Crusader
Director: Alfonso Cuaron
Script: Frank Darabont
Score: Trent Reznor
-No origin story. Maybe some flashbacks. Bruce is in his Late twenties/Early thirties. The main villain is The Holiday killer. Main Love interest is Vicky Vale. The story would be based on the Long Holloween with a few changes.

Bruce Wayne - Billy Crudup
Alfred - Bill Nighy
James Gordon - Joel Edgerton
Harvey Dent - Patrick Wilson
Gilda Dent - Carey Mulligan
Falcone - Ray Loitta
Riddler - Micheal Pitt
Vicky Vale - Abbie Cornish
Alberto Falcone - Eddie Redmayne
Sofia Falcone - Noomi Rapace
Selina Kylle - Eva Green

the Sequel and there is a recast.

Batman: Gotham knights
Director: Alfonso Cuaron
Script: Frank Darabont
Score: Trent Reznor
-Base the Plot on Dark Victory with components of Batman: War Games. The Villain would be Two Face with Black Mask as a Sub Villain. Introduce Thomas Elliot. Vale/Wayne relationship ends.

Bruce Wayne - Billy Crudup
Alfred - Bill Nighy
Dick Grayson - Jeremy Allen White
James Gordon - Joel Edgerton
Harvey Dent/Two Face - Patrick Wilson
Vicky Vale - Abbie Cornish
Sofia Falcone - Noomi Rapace
Selina Kylle - Eva Green
Black Mask - Norman Reedus
Thomas Elliot - Stephen Moyer

Batman - Idris Elba (Perfect voice and that's such an important thing)

Robin - Jaden Smith

Selina Kyle/Catwoman - Thandie Newton

Alfred - James Earl Jones

Joker - Denzel Washington

Is Tyler Perry directing this one?

If we're going for an all black Batman cast, Denzel's really better suited for Harvey Dent than he is Joker.

I think he would be a perfect Batman.

I'm still going with Ian McShane for the Penguin.... black dudes or not.

Since I'm on a Breaking Bad binge:

James Gordon - Bryan Cranston
Lucius Fox - Giancarlo Esposito

Dean Norris (or Jonathan Banks) - Harvey Bullock
Aaron Paul - Joker
Krysten Ritter - Harley Quinn
Bob Odenkirk - Riddler

Anna Gunn - Sarah Essen
Jonathan Banks - Rupert Thorne
Emily Rios - Rene Montoya
Christopher Cousins - Roland Daggett
Mark Margolis - Carmine Falcone

Bruce Wayne/Batman

Jon Hamm

It's not a hard and fast rule that all people who have lived in another country lose their accent/take on the accent of their new country - look at Schwartzenegger, for example; how many years has he lived in the U.S - since the late 70's? That's certainly no American accent he has going there.

Very true. However, i base my statement on many real people I know who have moved to and lived in the US for just as much time if not more time than Arnie and they have a complete strong American accent.

Maybe not everyone gets an accent. Or maybe Arnie realises everyone mimics/loves his voice that he fakes his own accent (if that makes sense). Plenty of other actors have American accents after moving to and living there for some time. Mila Kunis, Charlize Theron, Mila Yovovich (spelling?) and i'm sure there are many more. True maybe they are faking it too, but again to my point, I based my statement on real people I know that are not faking it.

Remember someone suggesting Matthew Fox on here before. Just seen a still from 'Alex Cross' and, my God, what a phyiscal transformation that is.

What about Liam McIntyre? 30 years old, 6'2, good look for the part. I'm not that familiar with his work but he seems fine in Spartacus. Doesn't hurt he's built like a rock.

McIntyre should be Aquaman in a Thor-style film.

Speaking of Thor, I once mentioned that Tom Hiddleston would make an awesome Joker.I found this on deviantArt. What do you think? Yay or nay?
