The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 3

Not Riddler. That reeally doesnt suit him appearance wise or the way he comes off in film.

Black Mask actually makes sense though. Phoenix with a shaved head could be a decent Mr Freeze though

I dont think he would be good for Freeze but Black Mask sounds perfect for Joaquin, seriously. This guy just suits it, and how awesome would it be to have a heavyweight actor in a role that is quite obscure to a non-fanboy. It would be bigger than casting Tom Hardy for Bane.

The problem might only be with how they handle Black Mask. As Roman Sionis, he would nail it. As well as some Black Mask scenes, but if they're going to cover him up the entire time it would have to rely on the voice a lot. They may have some other actors in mind in that case.

As far as Tom Hardy as Bane goes... he was great yes, but he shouldve been bigger imo (which easily could have been done with special effects)

I would have liked Javier Bardem as Bane with prosthetics to make him more buff and cgi to make him bigger. He has the perfect Bane voice

My cast?

Pierce Brosnan as Alfred...he's 60 next year and look how old he's looking now, aww. And I've always wanted a younger Alfred that's more closer to the comics. Brosnan would definetly get in that father like routine no probs, and he has great skills with wit.

Bryan Cranston as Commisioner Gordon....nuff said.

MIchael Sheen as The Joker...This guy is a marvelous actor. He can play straight, to camp, to downright creepy. He's got that smile I've looking for in any actor for the Joker. I see him giving a performance similar to Mark Hamill's Joker, which would be great.

Brosnan and Sheen are ****ing inspired choices. I'm kind of in awe at how brilliant that casting would be. And of course I have to acknowledge the sheer truth of Cranston as Gordon. As for Harley? Has to Kristen Bell.

Hardys size was good enough for me. The first time you see him in the sewers, he was bloody massive , especially on that IMAX screen.

But Bardem would have been really amazing as well and very different.

Brosnan is a good choice for Alfred, but i wouldnt cast him for the reboot. Maybe in the series after. I think there's a lot of 70 year old actors these days that could nail it. Maybe in 10 to 15 years i would cast Brosnan. Same goes for Denzel as Lucius Fox. Speaking of Lucius, maybe they should take a break from the character until then. He's not needed in every Batman film just because he was a great part in Nolans trilogy.

To seperate from Nolans...they should only keep the absolute essentials (Alfred, Gordon, Bats) and Bryan Cranston is at the perfect age for Gordon. Alfred? Im going with John Hurt at the moment. I still like the idea of Malcolm McDowell though.

I can't imagine Bane being any bigger than he was in TDKR, especially in that scene where he kills Daggett. He looked like a monster.

Yeah any bigger comes at the risk of either casting a crap actor for the part, or too much CG to the point where it looks ridiculous. Bane looked HUGE.

Joaquin Phoenix is really looking like Batman these days. Hes set to make his comeback with "The Master". Critics already are calling his performance oscar worthy.

In what comics from Hell does Batman look like that?

Yeah, I really don't recall Batman looking a good 10-15 years older than he is. :o

Damn everyones being harsh on Joaquin ahaha my bad for suggesting him!

I would love to see Black Mask on film, BUT i dont think he's that formidable of a foe. I know he ****ed up Stephanie Brown but if Black Mask were the only Batvillain in the next film id be very dissapointed. But if anyone can make Black Mask a badass motha****a its Joaquin Phoenix. Look no further than his nasty role in Gladiator if you dont believe me

My idea pretty much would be to wait 8 years before started production, so that the next film is released in 2022

Essentially I'd like four films:
A bit of Year One, with The Long Halloween
Dark Victory
A Death in the Family
Hush

A Batman: Beyond spinoff would be nice too.

Directed by: Guillermo Del Toro
Story by: Jeph Loeb
Screenplay by: Paul Dini
Cinematography by: Guillermo Navarro
Music by: Nick Arundel (first choice), Jesper Kyd (second choice) or Inon Zur (third choice)

Batman - Jim Caviezel
Gordon - Bryan Cranston
Lucius Fox - Denzel Washington
Alfred - Jared Harris

Harvey Dent - Joaquin Phoenix
Joker - Andrew Scott
Black Mask - Johnny Depp
Hush - Michael Fassbender
Ras Al-Ghul - Viggo Mortensen or Ralph Fiennes
Mr Freeze - Hugo Weaving
Riddler - Robert Downey Jr or Michael C Hall
Calendar Man - Conleth Hill
Falcone - Robert De Niro
Maroni - Al Pacino
Loeb - Danny De Vito
Taliah - Kate Beckinsale
Flass - Bruce Willis
Albert Falcone - Adrien Brody
Selina Kyle/Catwoman - Angelina Jolie
Poison Ivy - Mila Jovovich
Sofia Gigante - ???

Yeah any bigger comes at the risk of either casting a crap actor for the part, or too much CG to the point where it looks ridiculous. Bane looked HUGE.

That cast list for the most part is amazing

I've wanted Pheonix For Sionis for awhile.

Along with Michael C. Hall(Great choice) for Riddler and Kevin Grievoux as Killer Croc.

What do you guys think of Colin Farrell as Batman? Apparently he was involved with the canned Batman/Superman movie a while back.

I think he's a great actor and he's definitely got the two sides of the character down. Colin can do cocky (Bruce), and he can also do dark (Batman).

I supported it then, when I was 7, and I support it now. I like Collin Farrell and im not ashamed!!! :o

He's no where near my favorite for the role but I think he would surprise people.

He got pretty big in Fright Night.
