The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 3

I'm pretty sure he was offered a role. Because most people assumed it was for Lex. But I can only think it was for Zod.

I think Gosling would have made good of it actually. But he just refuses to be part of CB movies.

Actaully, if he had of been offered a role, I think it would be more well known. It was probably just a small rumor started by fans.

Even if it was true it could be because if the role...maybe he was offered Jimmy Olsen. But I do accept that he may turn the Batman role, so I try to have backup plans

I understand but still.

What has this Jay Ryan guy been in? His look is ideal.

Not a lot that I'm aware of.

But I'm pretty impressed with with what I've seen in Beauty And The Beast previews. He has the look, and he has a pretty cool voice, which would be great for Batman. And he's a pretty good actor too, from what I've seen, so far :D

gosling as jimmy olsen. :lmao:

maybe it would have been as steve trevor in a cameo.

A lot of actors that come to mind I have trouble seeing them handling the multiple sides of the character.

I could see Jake Jellynhal (spelled wrong, I know) doing young Bruce well (immature and swaggering while hiding inner pain) but I don't see him in the cowl holding bad guys over a roof ledge.

James Franco could do a Kilmer-style Batman-tortured and dark but more family friendly and a tortured Bruce, sitting in a dark study bleeding and monologuing, but I don't see him as a suave playboy.

If Guillermo Del Toro directed the next Bat flick I definitely would want to see what he could do with Killer Croc, Man Bat, and Clayface. I don't have a casting choice for Clayface as I think more of the emphasis should be put on the monster side of Clayface, maybe Clayface could provide the muscle for a smarter villain like Hugo Strange, Hush, or The Riddler

To each their own...Gosling's still my first choice. But hey, I want Tom Hanks as Gordon so what do I know? ;P

You know whats up. Tom Hanks as Gordon is inspired. Especially after his role in Catch Me If You Can. I first thought of him as Gordon in that movie and he'd be ****ing perfect! I can totally see it, and with Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, and Morgan "God" Freeman leaving the franchise, we're going to need some big names in the supporting cast again. I think Hanks would be a VERY smart move, and after all of the success that the last 3 films had, I dont see why he wouldnt accept the role.

You're very kind. I actually got the idea watching Road To Perdition, with the mustache, coat and hat, telling his boys he doesn't do anything dangerous even though he goes out all hours with a gun...

If we can't get Groffery Rush as Alfred, how about Roger Moore. He can be tough or funny, and despite his age he's still quite witty and charming

That cast is wonderful.

Del Toro has been my choice since TDKR went off in the theatres.

I'm warming up to an older Batman and Mount is the best choice for that.

Ezra Miller seems good for the role, who cares if he's bi? People need to get over it.

Cranston is perfect. Period.

Perfect Croc,Strange, and Langstrom. Literally my picks for those respective roles.

10/10

Oh yeah Im definitely getting a Gordon vibe from him in that movie. And the kid who played his son, Tyler Hoechlin would have made a great Robin when he was a kid. Someone recently suggested him for Batman, but hes too young imo. Maybe he could play Nightwing if the new franchise begins with the Bat-family already existing. Doubtful I know...

I like the idea of Roger Moore playing Alfred a lot more than I want it to actually happen. Roger Moore was a great Bond but he looks like **** now.

Compared to this jolly old man

If we're going to get a former Bond actor as Alfred, I say go for Timothy Dalton. I can totally see it.

Aaaaaand here's a couple more pictures of my favorite choice for Batman, Anson Mount.

My cast?
Well we know this guy has just popped up. But if WB were to look at unknowns and look inside the CW, then Jay Ryan for Batman.

Jay-Ryan-019.jpg

Pierce Brosnan as Alfred...he's 60 next year and look how old he's looking now, aww. And I've always wanted a younger Alfred that's more closer to the comics. Brosnan would definetly get in that father like routine no probs, and he has great skills with wit.

Bryan Cranston as Commisioner Gordon....nuff said.
breakbad-bryancran.jpg

Ezra Miller as Robin, Changeling pointed him out and I liked him.

Kaya Scodelario as Batgirl...Seriously, one of the best young actresses of this generation. If you don't know that well check her out, you'll thank me ;)

Vincent D'onofrio as Det. Bullock
vincent-donofrio.jpg

Tobin Bell as Mr. Freeze...Yes. He's 70. But with a bit of effects and elbow grease, CGI if you must, this guy could become Freeze in a rather great way. I can't think of anybody else that would give in a good, sympathetic and wise Freeze performance than this man.

I like all of your choices Rodrigo, especially Tobin Bell as Mister Freeze. And I dunno about a CW actor as Batman, thats a pretty big jump. But I havent seen the guy act so I can't comment on Jay Ryan. I like his look tho, its different.

Vincent Donofrio as Harvey Bullock makes so much sense, great choice dude. If Detective Bullock isnt in the next series Im going to be pissed, the GCPD feels incomplete without him in th films. Im sorry but Nolan is stupid for not naming that chubby cop Bullock. (the one that Joker held by knifepoint to get out of police custody in TDK)

Ideally the GCPD in the next flicks would have Bullock, Sarah Essen, Jim Gordon, Renee Montoya, and Crispus Allen. Obviously not all of them would have a big role, but i think itd be a nice nod to have the police force made of up familiar names.

Thanks Changeling :)

With Ryan, I guess I'm looking into Cavill's situation. Granted Cavill was more well known and has been in films, but he was mainly just a TV actor. The Tudors was pretty popular of course.

I'm hoping BATB kicks things off Ryan, cause I like him,and from what I've seen in the previews of the show, he could pull off a decent Batman.

I like the picks of Brosnan and Dalton for Alfred but I still lean towards Moore, as I believe he could handle the character's subtle humor better. And believe it or not, he's my least favorite Bond :D

Brosnan is a combo of cold and charming, how about him as Hugo Strange? He wouldn't be as physically intimidating (but he can hold his own) but he's a respected doctor and professor who is also a complete psycho. And in future films Dalton could do ZDavid Cain...

I can't help but feel like Roger Moore - who I do think could be a fine Alfred - would be too old for it. I mean, he's 84 or 85 now, and even though Alfred should be old, that might be a bit too old, considering we're talking about a reboot that won't happen for a few years at least.

That's why Rush is my first choice. But Moore does look good for his age. I just like having backup choices
