Billionaire playboy is important but it should be the last piece of the puzzle. The real Bruce is a very dark character, and Batman is an extension of himself. If he doesn't have the darkness in his eyes and approach it's gonna come off as weak.ЯɘvlveR;24439787 said:wayne is two characters. he's the playboy billionaire and batman the crime fighter. if people are concerned about him not looking maniacal in the 10 minutes he'll spend in the cave on film, then i don't know what to say. i guess it's not that hard for me to imagine.
Dark = maniacal? If you think that's the case then I don't know what to say. That's certainly an... interesting... interpretation of what "dark" means.

Maybe he'll surprise me. But right now, im not seeing it at all.
To me the most important thing is when he's in that cave or alone or with Alfred and he doesn't have that mask on. If he can't nail that part then im not interested. I don't care if it's for 10 minutes or for an hour.
It's just a head scratcher for me. Casting Hammer might turn out OK but if he's on the list, i assume anybody can join the list then? Any young decent actor should audition then? And people knock the Gosling suggestions. I get it with Ryan but at least when you watch Drive, etc you can see the calm but brooding intensity.
Bruce doesn't have to look like a maniac, i only pointed out that Keaton always had that look. The one thing Keaton, Bale have in common is the intensity and darkness factor. Which Fassbender has.
Am I the only one here that'd like an older Bruce Wayne, in the early fourties or something? What The Dark Knight lacked in Nolan's films, was that wise "in control" feel that Batman needs.
I saw him say Keaton has a maniacal appearance. I didn't see him say a maniacal appearance was a universal requirement for an actor playing Bruce Wayne, but perhaps I missed something.

Armie is already playing the Lone Ranger and if that movie is successful will be the Western answer to Pirates Of The Carribean. If thats the case, I can't see him as Batman AND The Lone Ranger. Just like I can't see Michael Fassbender as Batman when I'd rather see him as Magneto for the next several films. I actually think it's really uninspired casting when people draw from superhero movies to cast other superheroes. Another Ryan Reynolds is the last thing the world needs

I agree with you, but the devil's advocate in me has to bring up the counterpoint: Chris Evans.
Hemsworth is doing Thor, Avengers, and Huntsman. I don't think it's that big of a stretch.
Also, Ryan Reynolds is awesome and the world needs at least 6 more of him.
