The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 4

There is absolutely nothing that even resembles Selina Kyle in Rooney Mara. And really shame on you for suggesting her for the role. Although Goodman could play Bullock he is a bit old. Bullock should be late mid to late 40s.

Richard Madden is a cool choice and though Luke Evans looks the part i'm not really convinced of his acting abilities but i've only seen him in The Raven.

FTW :D

I can understand not agreeing with the choice, but shaming? Shame on you? Really?

Gosling or Evans.

Cranston for Gordon.

There's so many cool possibilities for Alfred so ill pass on fancasting him.

Michael Madsen is my NUMBER 1 choice for Bullock.

I think I missed whatever movie Luke Evans was good in.

He's good in pretty much everything he's been in, he's the only redeemable feature in The Raven and The Three Musketeers, he's also the antagonist in Fast 6 which is out now.

I think a better test will be his role as Bard the Bowman (killer of Smaug) in The Hobbit 2 & 3 as well as his role as Dracula in the upcoming Dracula: Year Zero.

I like Gosling but I just don't see his puppy dog eyes exactly looking intimidating when he puts on the mask.

I just noticed it but Evens is playing Bard the bowman in The Hobbit 2 and 3. Perfect time to shine if you ask me.

IMO Matt Bomer is the perfect choice. Plus he's exactly what you expect Bruce Wayne to look like in real life. He has the strong jawline, the dark hair, the baby blue eyes and just about the right build (he could beef up a little bit). In the comics Bruce looks almost exactly like Clark Kent. Imagine Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill in a Justice League movie together, they look just alike! And as you can see (in the last pic) his eyes could look pretty damn intimidating through the cowl.

I can't even tell any of these dark haired square jawed ****ers apart anymore.

Sure he has a square jaw but he looks more like him? I see your point, if you're only looking at his eyes and if you only look at very selective pictures. :woot:
Exactly!
People ***** he looks too much like Cavill. Not true, depending on how and where you look :p

I don't think I can accept Madden as Batman lol! To me, he looks like Henry Cavill's brother, sometimes his twin even. I just don't see it in his face anyway.

You're not the only one who thinks he'd be a good Batman.
The only thing going against Gosling is his voice. I see the billionaire playboy Bruce (as does everyone) but I see the intensity when he works with Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives). In those movies, he's extremely dark and intense, and VERY quiet. Apparently in Forgives he speaks even less than he did in Drive and is more violent.

That approach to not speaking much, would work extremely well when he's brooding in the cave or when he's Batman. And of course when he speaks, he can put on a subtle voice like Keaton did. That approach speaks volumes to Bruce's character, who is extremely internal. And then as the playboy out in public he can turn on the charm he's known for, talkative, same voice and everything. The contrast would be unreal. You would never expect that guy to be Batman.

His name is just as big as Bale's, maybe even bigger at the moment.

If he doesn't play Barry Allen (perfect choice for default Gosling lol), then I would love him to transform into the role of Batman.

Luke Evans is another great choice but he would have to bulk up.

I don't think Gosling is a Bruce Wayne type, like you said, his voice isn't very "Batman" and purely on a superficial level, I don't think he'd suit the cowl. As many have pointed out though, he would be a nigh perfect Barry Allen.

For me, the best Batman atm would be Luke Evans or Matt Bomer.

I would support Evans as Batman, though he's not my first pick. But still I don't think either he or Matt Bomer could turn in a Bale level performance, neither have demonstrated the ability to do so in any of their respective films.
imo Ryan Gosling has demonstrated that ability, he's one of the best actors of his generation. If an early 30s Batman is cast, Gosling would get me the most excited.
