Richard Madden (Robb from GoT)

right age and can act. don't know if he can do an American accent though but i'm sure he can.

Luke Evans' facial features remind me too much of Orlando Bloom. Not very Batman-esque.

Eh. I'm hoping for an actor older than Cavill.

Same here. Batman should be older, more weathered, and more cynical. Cavill should be younger because Supes exudes optimism and to a degree naivete.

Goyer already said that the new Batman is early on in his career, like a Year 2 Bats. so someone in his late 20s/early 30s makes more sense

Supes didn't start until he was 33. So Bats should look around 35 at least, I think.

I think they should be the exact same age. I'd like that better than the "I'm older and wiser than you" take.

Once the Red Wedding happened, Madden has been my numero uno. Now we know he has lots of time on his hands.

I'm not saying that Batman is necessarily wiser. I'm just saying sometimes greater cynicism and pessimism comes with age.

I doubt a couple years here and there is significant enough to be much wiser, more cynical and pessimistic. Whether Bruce is 30, 33, or 35, in the end it won't be all too significant.

That's why I said 35 AT LEAST... that's the low end of the spectrum. Ideal would be early 40s (the actor doesn't have to be early 40s... he just has to have that look. Cavill himself is only 30).

I just hope we don't get the chris evans of actors cast for Batman? Not that i'm hating on him just that Chris as Cap seems so much like a complimentary character when put next to RDJ in the same movie.

The new batman actor should arguably stand his ground if not more so next to Cavill. Cavill is great don't get me wrong but if the movie really is 50/50 supes-batman i don't want to see cavill's superman outshining X actors batman. We need an actor who could easily stand on his own when it comes to solo batman films.

Wouldn't early 40s be too late for a Batman who is just getting started?

I don't think this is relevant. Cavill is nothing like RDJ in any way...he's more of an antithesis, being quiet, noble, stoic. He's actually pretty similar to Cap. If anything, the concern should be the exact opposite, that Batman will probably steal the show, considering his immense popularity and appeal compared to the "gentle giant" Superman.

It's not so much about RDJ's charisma or his boisterousness what I mean is that while Evans isn't a bad actor he isn't a particularly strong one but he has a great look for Cap and that works in his more complimentary role in the avengers or even his solo films which are pretty much avengers compliments as well.

The new Batman actor not being introduced in a solo film does put him at a disadvantage to cavill, who is a very good actor and already has that solo film under his belt. Batman may be a "bigger" character than superman but the new actor will still be somewhat of an under-dog following both Bale and in some ways Cavill.

I want a strong dominant actor who can more than hold his own acting-wise, especially when it comes to branching out into solos. Not just someone who would look good next to cavill.

Chris Evans is a better actor than Henry Cavill, imo. I'm a Cavill fangirl, but Chris has shown far more range over the course of his career.

I'm not worried about Batman standing his ground next to Supes. I'm worried about them bringing Supes down to make Batman look good the way they often do in other media. Batman coming off looking cool in this is almost a guarantee, imo.

I'm not an evans hater but where? I've actually seen a lot of his work and honestly I think his best acting I've seen from him was probably in that crappy cellular movie.

I know he's done some indie stuff but I can't think of any off the top of my head?

This would please me.
As for accent, Spider-Man (Garfield) Superman (Cavill) and Batman (Bale) are all British.

Sunshine, Fierce People, London, Puncture, Scott Pilgrim, Street Kings, The Iceman...all very good (and varied) performances from him, imo.

And I still say Richard Madden is too boyish for Batman.

Out of those i've only seen him in Pilgrim and Street Kings and I wasn't particularly impressed but i digress.

I agree with you on Madden though and this is coming from a big GoT fan and someone who enjoyed his role. He just doesn't seem right. It's probably the age thing. I kind of do want an older Batman 30+, at least Bale's age in Begins.

Damn, I would love Richard Madden as Batman. Robb Stark was my favorite character on GoT. The King in The North! I think if he bulked up and could do an American accent he'd be great. He is kind of boyish, but I think he could do it. :)
