I would include photos but apparently we're only allowed 10 a post and I'm assuming people would rather I didn't spam this thread with three posts. So, ignoring Affleck, Robbie, Irons and Leto as they're of course already cast:

Allies:
James Gordon: Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Argo, Drive)
The single most cliche pick out there, but I also think one of the best choices for the role.

Barbara Gordon/Batgirl/Oracle: Ellen Page (Inception, Juno, The East)

Tim Drake/Robin/Red Robin: Logan Lerman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Fury, 3:10 to Yuma)

Selina Kyle/Catwoman: Eva Green (Casino Royale, Penny Dreadful, Kingdom of Heaven)

Helena Bertinelli/Huntress: Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest, Life)

Sarah Essen: Mariska Hargitay (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Prince Street)

Enemies:

Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow: Sharlto Copley (District 9, Europa Report, Open Grave)

Edward Nygma/Riddler: Casey Affleck (Interstellar, Gone Baby Gone, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford)

Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze: Ralph Fiennes (Schindler's List, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Skyfall)

Roman Sionis/Black Mask: Guy Pearce (Memento, L.A. Confidential, The Hurt Locker)

James Gordon Jr.: Paul Dano (Prisoners, Looper, Ruby Sparks)

Julian Day/Calendar Man: Paul Giamatti (Barney's Version, Sideways, Saving Private Ryan)
I apologize for the flashbacks to his TASM2 role from the idea of him playing a bald comic character with tattoos on his head. :funny:

Carmine Falcone: Viggo Mortensen (A History of Violence, The Road, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy)

I think Reese Witherspoon would make a great Vicki Vale. She has that bubbly personality (a little airheaded) that you often see in news reporters. But more than that, she can do the drama brilliantly.

Amber Heard as Silver St Cloud.

Kaboom!

Penguin - Ray Winstone

Winstone would nail it as the penguin. Good choice.

He is a frequent choice, but one I do not understand at all. Is is another "Arkham games" thing? Because otherwise, Ray Winstone (and every role he has ever played) is the polar opposite of Oswald Cobblepot.

Lex and Joker are to be updated to fit modern standards. Do that with Penguin and you've got Winstone :o

I see the sarcasm emoticon, so I will sheathe my rapier.

I could get behind the majority of these picks, but casey affleck i cant. He and ben look enough alike thats it'd be pretty distracting. Imo. Especially since theyd have to share scenes.

Michael Emerson as the Ventriloquist is something that I definitely can get behind.

Eddie Marsan as Mad Hatter, anyone? Or The Penguin?

Almost all of these are probably considered "uninspired", "safe" or "cliche" but I don't care, those are just buzz words that mean "good/great choice" to me, lol... I'll throw a few alternate choices in parenthesis..

Batman - Ben Affleck
Nightwing - Ian Somerhalder (Dylan O'Brien, Logan Lerman for younger)
Catwoman - Kate Beckinsale (Lauren Cohan, see below)
Commissioner Gordon - Bruce Willis (Bryan Cranston)
Sarah Essen Gordon - Elizabeth Mitchell (Elisabeth Rohm)
Barbara Gordon - Emma Stone (Emmy Rossum, Mary Elizabeth Winstead)
Harvey Bullock - Michael Madsen (Wade Williams)
Renee Montaya - Alice Braga (Lauren Stamile)
Maggie Sawyer - Connie Nielsen

Joker - Jared Leto
Penguin - Ray Winstone (Mark A. Sheppard, Timothy Spall)
Scarecrow - Jackie Earle Haley (Adrien Brody, Sharlto Copley)
The Riddler - Robert Knepper (Garret Dillahunt, Michael Sheen)
Two-Face - Jon Hamm (Michael C. Hall)
Mr. Freeze - Ralph Fiennes (Mads Mikkelsen, Jason Isaacs)
Deadshot - Will Smith
Deathstroke - Gerard Butler (Sean Bean, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jim Caviezel, Johnny Messner)
Black Mask - Kiefer Sutherland (Jeffrey Donovan, Cole Hauser)
Harley Quinn - Margot Robbie
Poison Ivy - Eva Green (Olivia Wilde, Melanie Laurent)
Ras Al Ghul - Christopher Heyerdahl (Alexander Siddig, Demian Bichir, Jordi Molla)
Talia Al Ghul - Olga Kurylenko (Berenice Marlohe, Nazanin Boniadi)
Hugo Strange - Michael Nyqvist

And with the typiest typecastings of all time....

Carmine Falcone - Al Pacino
Sal Maroni - Robert DeNiro

Hate on it if you want, but who wouldn't want to see Pacino/DeNiro playing mobsters in a Batman movie? If you say you wouldn't, you are dead to me, lol. I could come up with other choices but I probably wouldn't even have the Mod Bosses in these new Batman movies so I'll stick with the Legends. While Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt and Eva Green could all easily play Catwoman, I have them all playing different roles in the DCU. Eva Green as Ivy as you can see, Blunt as Hawkgirl and I have Theron as Circe. Eva is literally perfect casting as Poison Ivy IMO. Beckinsale has been my top choice for Catwoman forever and she's still age appropriate for Affleck. Ra's Al Ghul is always my most difficult, I change my mind on that all the time. I've been trying to go with Foreign choices for the Al Ghul's. Kiefer as Black Mask is simply because I want to hear his voice coming from behind that mask, I think it would be an awesome fit for that reason alone, haha. I know most people say Somerhalder is too old for Grayson but I don't agree, he looks younger than he is and he's just a great fit for the character to me. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the only choice I prefer over Somerhalder but I don't see that happening for multiple reasons. As I've said before, my top 3 choices for Penguin all died, James Gandolfini, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Bob Hoskins. Winstone is the best fit left by far IMO. Deathstroke is another difficult one, I go back and forth on a bunch of candidates all the time.

Other than Affleck...

Commissioner Gordon - Harrison Ford or Kurt Russell
Sarah Essen Gordon - Elisabeth Shue
Babs - Alicia Vikander
Catwoman - Eva Green or Charlize Theron or... The role is spoiled for choice, really.
Penguin - Al Pacino. Give the little man a fat suit.
Two-Face - Joaquin Phoenix
Mad Hatter - Peter Dinklage or Toby Jones

That'll do.

Joaquin is never gonna do anything big budget at this point I think. I'd love to see him take on something more mainstream, but I don't think he's into that whole scene.

rewatching sherlock just made me realize how awesome it'd be if lars mikkelsen were to play hugo strange.

Eddie Marsan as Mad Hatter, anyone? Or The Penguin?

Grat actor, I see him more as Mad Hatter or Scarface (The human, not the doll) than the penguin, even if his nose is great for that.
