The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

I think we have gone away from the times of having someone look or have the body of a character in the comics. Movie magic is that good now, Colin Farrell is the perfect example. We always look at people who are cast in terms of how they normally look. I think regardless how Barry looks it will never overall please as we all have our own version.

@Art Vandelay does the mere sight of Keoghan's face still repulse you? :funny: Or have you made peace with it?

Much like how I imagine people first reacted to the Elephant Man, at first his appearance is alarming, then you just have to accept the reality of his existence, and finally realize "Sure, this guy looks really weird, but in the end he's just like you and me!"

You're assuming he's still going to be buff by the time they film the sequel, which probably won't be for another three years or more.
That's true, it's just with his fitness craze I have to wonder if he'll get even bigger.

Original 40s Joker wasn't buff at all, he was very spindly.
Mhm yes, for sure, not buff at all.

Lol the sequel won't begin filming until 2025? Come on now, I can easily see them start production on it late 2022 or early 2023

The way the world is, we're lucky we even have this Batman. But you're right, I was thinking of the movie's release date, not filming.

Even then, late 2025 is the latest I can imagine for the sequel's release. It can easily come out very early in 2024. This first film only took so long to come out because of the pandemic. It won't be like that next time. At least I'm hoping. And I don't think Matt will spend three years writing the script for the sequel like he did for this one.

I think Rob will film that movie with that other director in the summer. I also think the GCPD show will begin production in the summer. And I think the Penguin show could begin production after that, with The Batman 2 beginning filming this time next year.

the reasons for the first film's script being written for so long are endless. firstly, he had to finish the apes and take a quick break, then he started writing a script with ben and DCEU in mind, and lastly, started writing this from scratch .On top of that, in a recent interview, he said the script was getting longer and longer because he wanted to do so much with this world. he also said he has ideas for what's next. I expect an early to mid 2023 production start.

Reeves did 3 years between his Apes films. I think it's reasonable to expect something similar here. Especially when you have HBO Max spinoffs keeping fans engaged in the meantime.

Maybe if he's had a head start on the script/story there could be an argument for 2 1/2 years with a November/December 2024 release.

So does Bruce initially go by the name "Vengeance"? Because Catwoman, Penguin and one other character call him that in the movie.

That would be crazy but I'm not sure we're getting that. Then again someone claiming to have seen stills said his face was "lumpy", whatever that means.

Lumpy...
Maybe something like this?Screenshot_20220222-005813_Chrome.jpg
