The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

I’m not into Joker having anything to do with drops or any drugs, but I can get on board if Merkle is one of his fake personas. Leave the drugs to Hatter. I could see Hatter pushing drugs for Penguin or maybe be a drug lord himself.

I don't get why a lot of you are against the concept of Barry starting out as Merkel in the GCPD series and turning into the Joker. Maybe he'll have a connection to the drops, maybe he'll be a corrupt cop paid off by Falcone or Penguin and working drugs. I understand the idea that Joker should remain a mystery, but with an incredibly POV driven and character focused director like Matt Reeves, I'd be open to see that take on Merkel/Joker.

I just don't think there ever was a Merkel character. I think it was just a name to throw people off the scent of Barry being Joker.

Both are equally plausible IMO

Remember when the rumor was this Court Of Owls of owls were in this movie and that's what Riddler was trying to show Batman ?

Remember when the rumor was that Jared Leto was playing Jason Todd turned Joker Jr. and not the actual Joker in Suicide Squad?

Jeeeesus that **** was inescapable and I never even lurked on this thread back in 2015

This is actually a sequel to the Nolanverse movies and Robert Pattinson’s character turns out t actually be Jospeh Gordon levity with dissociative identity disorder and likewise is actually Robin and also nightwing but becomes Batman. Christian Bale never recovered from his back injury. Colin Farrell is Azrael.

Yeah I was just looking at the photo thread it looks like the riddler is also an amalgamation with Hush, this is also hinted or pointed to in one of the trailers when it looks back at Bruce’s and Edwards past having some degree of relation to one another, thus would be like Thomas Elliot knowing Bruce as a child. Maybe it’s not even the Riddler but is actually Hush but the Riddler is a part of the film, it’s just not for certain who everyone thinks is, the guy in the green jacket and mask, which seem like tell tale signs of Hush to me.

Also the white face painted men obviously have future association with the fuggin joker.

I forgot to mention as well, the weird cross signs they’re some type of engram probably but they also look like cross hairs, ala dead shot, which also by the way, encircle Bruce during one scene, it’s like this degree of relations. Plus renewal might mean ras al ghual for one instance, also Jason Todd, the Lazarus pit in general, which also could be the joker by some degrees he fell in a literal pit as well quite comparable but a vat of acid instead. Also it makes you wonder why the riddler actor Paul Dano was doing almost this heath ledger joker impression with his voice.

BUt it makes me think further this is all connected and has some degree of relations somehow. It was also very similar to the joker scene in the far knight where he also hits the glass I believe or something.

I have a feeling this all somehow has something to do with the initial creation of the joker in the film, and maybe has some to do with ras and the Lazarus pit. Like it’s totally how by accident the joker comes into being and gets created. I’m sure I solved it somewhat already.

Hush isn't in this and I don't think Reeves would tackle Ra's so soon.

Okay but here wears a strange mask that looks like something Hush would wear when the riddler doesn’t normally conceal his face. He’s not wearing bandages but it’s close, it’s insinuating or suggesting he has no real face or identity of his own. Plus, he tapes up the former mayors face at the beginning which look exactly like the pattern of bandages he wears as hush for a mask.

I think I am correct, we shall see then in March, good day to you.

No face, to two face=hush, double sided, two sided personalities, many of the main characters in Batman.

Multiple two sided multifaceted, like a diamond=jewel thief, Catwoman.

Plus like what was pointed out under analysis bun fans further on YouTube and the like who else knew Bruce Wayne as a child? Not Edward Enigma but It’s Thomas Elliot, who is I blessed by Brice Wayne. The “Riddler” seems obsessed with Wayne in the Trailer.

Also I spotted more references they might have been to the court of owls, either that or just the TAS, I think hinting at something ominous supernatural but also Orwellian.

He wears that stuff on his head to prevent them from finding any traces of DNA. Plus it's meant to evoke the Zodiac Killer.

I’m good with all this too. But I like the mysterious red hooded criminal falling into a vat of chemicals and disappearing. Who was he? is still a question everybody would ask.

Considering that Joker was only given the red hood origin in 1951, so was featuring as a character for over a decade without explanation of why he looks like that or who he was before, I don't mind if there's no explanation for it. Even in the man behind the red hood story, it's still fairly mysterious which I like. And the only details prior to that origin were small clues that he was a criminal before the transformation and probably didn't look like that before (like in the first Joker story, it seems like he knows the gangster Brute Nelson from before, but Brute does not recognise him), as well as it being a permanent look not make up.

In earth one he knows (it’s almost like a Rachel character) Harvey dent as a child they are both siblings. In regular dc it’s tommy elliot he had as a child hood friend. Plus they both wear like trench coats (the supposed Riddler here) and hush. It has never had anything to do with the riddler. I think that maybe there’s two of them, one is hush and the other is Riddler, but it looks like Paul Danos eyes in all of the trailers.

PLus he doesn’t want to leave any DNA evidence then why does he hand himself in during the diner scene? It just seems strange to me this is supposed to be a huge mystery suspense movie and plot I don’t see how there’s not unexpected twists and turns.
