The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

I feel Reeves shouldn't go the route of his Joker needing makeup.

It will inevitably draw comparisons to Nolan and understandably so.
Given what we keep hearing, I highly doubt this Joker will be a guy in face paint.

I mean, if they WERE to go the makeup route it 100% needs to be clean makeup. Like a mime almost. But again I doubt we're getting that here.

Not only is that incredibly fake, but it seems like the Twitter page is just trolling overall; they also said Daniel Radcliffe is gonna cameo in Doctor Strange as Wolverine...

Anyone else think Riddler may attempt to backstab Joker in a future instalment only for to blow up in his face and learn very quickly what type of force of nature Joker is ?

Riddler does seem to be hunting the corrupt in this series and wouldn't be surprised if Joker was one of his targets....

Personally I think it's at least a step up from some of the descriptions we've read about in the past.
Eh, I totally get where you're coming from but you can only keep doing that same basic design before all these interpretations start to blur together.

And yet the Batman himself has been quite comfortable coasting on the same basic design for all these movies. :argh: Damned flying rodent. Conversely, there's also a point where you veer too far off from the original design and it starts to not even look like the character anymore. I mean certain rumoured designs we've read sounds more like Jigsaw from the Punisher series.

I do think there's a level of "clown esque" people come to expect from this character in live action. As bad as letoker looked, he still had white, black and red. So long as they keep that, I think we're good. I definitely think he's gonna be bleached this time either way.

I'm sure the same basic visual codifiers will still be there so that you can still tell who you're looking at onscreen like the pale face and green hair.

As much as I love that classic design, I really do feel like this Joker was always going to have to stand out from everything that's come before.
Chemical damage would also add a lot more character IMO

Guilty of that.
Letos joker sucks on so many levels and the tattoos are awful, but visually i still have this soft spot because he has the pale skin and the green hair.

I think its important for the character to have these traits visual, because why have the character in when you dont embrace what he is.

And you can do a ton of messed up cool stuff with the character, embracing "chemical accident" or so that disfigured him so much.

Ehhhh i think barry will do good but ... ugh im tired of the GRITTY scary stuff... i want the clean cut boarderline homosexual showman joker...

If a guy has greasy hair and is scary it like cool but imagine joker meticulously doing his hair and makeup "getting rdy for a big night " Killing people ... also wanna see a " no mans land" moment with ioker holding a baby at gun point to hammer home ......

No he has nothing even in the ballpark of human empathy ... but i am still excited for the boogeyman version

To be fair ASHOSE Joker has that in spades and he's among one of the scariest versions of The Joker we've ever had. Obviously I'm not saying that's what makes him scary but still

Joker is a character who unfortunately can fall too easily into being corny/cringey. If it's between gritty Joker, and "Showman" Joker, I much prefer gritty.

It's a balance for me. Gritty but showy mannerisms and "huge" crimes every now and then. Maybe I'd give him more of a "rockstar" edge too

The classic comics showman Joker just isn't possible in this universe Matt has created I feel like. If it were, we would have seen a more traditional take on the Riddler character. But Matt has set the mood and the tone of the universe, and I think he wants Joker to be the grittiest, darkest and scariest character. I'm not saying this Joker won't have chaotic outbursts of energy, but I think people should equally be prepared for a Joker that stares creepily in silence and smiles.... moves in a stealth way.... and has an unsettling presence. I just think he's going to be downright CREEPY
