The Dark Knight The Batmobile Thread, Only Better.

Come on now in a high speed chase The Burton-mobile would get owned big time from a simple sharp turn

and lethal it carried bombs and blew **** up but that was about the only thing it had that the tumbler didnt have

so far Tumbler owns all other batmobiles

Yes, but I wouldn't go as far as call it a joke. Was it really ridiculous to you?

as much as i like the tumbler, i hate hearing people diss the 89 batmobile

i mean c'mon...that's awesome

It's cool and all, but it doesn't really fit Batman if you ask me (that includes most versions in the comics).

it looks like a mechanical extension of Batman to me. just like the tumbler looks like a mechanical extension of nolan's Batman.

The biggest drawback for the tumbler is a big one, especially if you wanted to fight crime. Is that it only get's like 2 miles to the gallon. I think it was even said on the special features of the begins dvd.
Yeah, i guess the biggest drawback in Stark's armour is that its plastic and it doesnt fly.
ZOMG....its a movie!

Bruce Timm took this design and made it 100000 times better for the BTAS:

The 89 Batmobile could NOT be improved upon. Anton Furst was brilliant. It's good that Nolan went way out in left field for the Tumbler. Took me some getting used to but I love it now.

I guess I'm a stupid fanboy asn one poster so delicately put it. :oldrazz: But that's okay.

The reason I did not post the TDKR Batmobile is becuase it is not directly in line with continuity it's miller's interpretation.

Okay I'll aquiesce the Tumbler is the Bat Mobile (Urban Assault Vehicle) But what is wrong with actually going with a batmobile that is a sleek lithe car isntead of a semi-tank?

Anyone else want to see Bruce turn the Lambo into a new Batmobile? I totally want to see a tricked out Lambo done Batman style.

I wouldnt mind it having some gadgets, but i definitely dont want to see it transform like the toy does. (the toy transforms into something like the tumbler)
Anyway, how many chase scenes does Batman have in this movie? He has the Batmobile, the Lambo (more screentime for marketing of course), the Pod and a bike. The hell?

The tricked out Lambo Batmobile would be for BB3. :brucebat:

And He could still have the Tumbler in the garage. :cwink:

Ridiculous no but compared to the Tumbler it's like having some high school kid trying to take on Kobe in a one on one One might look better but the other will dominate in everything else.

Comparing the functionality of both cars isn't very fair at all.

If I had to drive one around, Id still take the 70s batmobile cus its a convertible.

But isnt that what this is all about?

A tricked out Ferrari wouldnt do any of the stunts the Tumbler does. Sure, if i was making a comic book and my hero would have a car, i would give him a nice supercar with rockets and gadgets. I wouldnt even think about a tank because i think that they are ugly and impractical in a city.
Nolan brought a new idea on the table. Its not exactly a tank (in the military or DKR sense) and its not exactly a car.
Granted, it could look a bit more beautiful, but its all kinds of stealth fighter badass! The uncovered wheels are its only weakness i can think of, while its jumping capability is a great asset. Both practical and awesome! Just look at this scene from TDK where it jumps over a car. It doesnt only jump across rooftops.

On the other hand, you could have a supercar batmobile with repulsors under it that would fire for a second to allow it to jump. Plot hax would cover the rest.

Also, some people argue that batman needs a real stealth car. A car that will pass unnoticed. Well, a tricked out supercar isnt a choice then. A Ford maybe? And you ll have a superhero drive in a Ford? I'd rather have the unrealistic route.
For example the BTAS-mobile had some sort of plates coming out of it that enclosed it and made it look like a dumpster.

"Much more subtle"

After all this though, i gotta say, i cant see Batman going back to the supercar type. I got used to the tumbler and it looks a lot grittier if you ask me.

EDIT: Remember those batmobiles in the comics that had a giant bat face as their grille. Jesus Christ who had this "bright" idea?

well in the comics at least in the Batman RIP it looks like Batman drives any old Sports car with a few tweeks here and there i can see that working in the next movie along with the Bat-pod

LOL .Exactly.

People are talking about the gas in The Tumbler being unrealistic, but they forgot about a man dressed like a bat, wearing a huge cape that he hurls himself off of skyscrapers with. Unafraid, knowing that his cape will turn into a glider.

Yeah man, its just a friggin movie.:cwink:

Agreed again. BTAS Batmobile was the best. I liked Burtons, and I still do, but I always thought BTAS batmobile was one sweat ride.:word:

Here's a few pics of my car at bathtime. some of the parts aren't on. I can tell you that basically it's probaly the most practical of all the previous cars.

That's so pimp. Imagine the neighbors walking by, and you just have that monstrosity parked in the driveway. :funny:

I wanna see it move. I'm assuming it's not just for display?

Ok, where the hell did you get?

Also, you should go and pimp the "door" to open like the real BB in BB. That would be so pimp!

I was thinking the same thing.

I wish I had neighbors that had cool toys like that. All my neighbors are old, and they keep a good watch on everything in the area. If they saw this, there would probably be cops everywhere.
