No, no, nooooo! That was the coolest thing Nolan ever added to his arsenal! They even brought it to the comics.I think the cape glide is more likely to be missing than the grapple.
I'm with you! Preach it.![]()

Arkham Origins has a better design of Batman in terms of the cowl and emblem.
The bat isnt overweight. What do you find better about the emblem?
Those aren't raindrops...those are Bat-tears![]()
You mean like the emblem on Superman right? The bat isnt overweight.
Look, we all appreciate Miller's drawing style and how it worked for that particular story. Batman himself was a Hulk like monster in a batsuit, so the emblem fit him. A normal batman doesnt need that thing. You can barely tell it's a bat.
Problem here is that you just make this statement and don't at all attempt to support it. It's not just that I argued how such things don't actually present an obvious disadvantage(see army helmets comparison), but it's that I argued for the various advantages they present: He can jump off of buildings and fly around a city thanks to the cape, he can protect others..etc(for example). That's a tactical advantage Point Black Period. If you want to argue why those idea are false, then you we'll get somewhere new but if you simply say it's all aesthetics in comics..I suppose we'll just have to leave it at that.
In they end, they are not all simply design choices, some serve the premise in particular ways beyond aesthetics the other doesn't. The yellow belt vs the black(very dark) one..
Your first point- Why he fights crime in a costume and not in various other ways is an attempt to rationalize the absurd. The fact that there is an attempt that can be made is entirely the point. Again, gold/yellow belt? I'm still waiting.
Your second- I'm not sure why you are asking me what advantage the gold/yellow belt provides. I've consistently asserted the answer is zero imo.
Lastly- You said the poster(and his ilk) was trashing the old to boost the new, however I think he has an appreciation for both, only that he likes one more for said particular reason and likes the other less for said particular reason(can't speak for him though). I see what you are trying to argue here but imo, you aren't quite doing it. One approach presents the Tac-advantage, the other doesn't and in various cases works against it. I think the premise works best when all things work towards the former.
Possibly...or a knife...or something else. The point, IMO, was to show he's been around the block a few times.
It also looks veins, making him look superhuman. They did a great job.Seriously.. would ANYONE have thought of using the texture of the suit like that? It looks like there are cuts in the suit stitched up to make raised lines, like Batman has been attacked by knives and Alfred has stitched it up. How great is that?
it was actually a gadget that was introduced in the Burton movies. If they want a Batman that is it's own entity they may not go with it. I don't recall Nolan's Batman using it but I could be wrong.
I just worry about Snyder de saturating it too much on film as he did with MOS..
That MOS suit had a lot more color going on than it looked in the finished product, and I would like that to change.
