The Bond 23 Thread

Oh things are far from kosher in the world of Bond. The UK release of the new Jeffrey Deaver Bond novel will be 2 weeks before the US release. Which means I'll b e 2 weeks behind and that really bothers me. Won't be able to even visit my favorite forum (the CBN) for 2 whole weeks to avoid spoilers).

a friend and i have been watching all the Bond films lately, and we just finished Goldeneye. i have to say it has by far the best opening theme sequence with the girls taking the USSR apart.

and then i rewatched this music video and i think these guys could make an amazing sequence for a Bond movie. just forgive me for it being U2's worst single ever. (actually remove the members of U2 and the song and this video itself could almost be great for Bond)

Ive seen Bond 23 already, its called Blood Stone and its Awesome.... :woot:

nice find

Thanks.

I agree with Iron Fist, he'd make a good point of contact ala Kerim Bay or Draco.

I'm in the mood for a Bond film tonight but am having trouble deciding which one to watch...I'm in the mood for a Connery adventure.

I watched Thunderball the other night. Apart from a ridiculous opening sequence, I think that movie has everything, including a knock-out Bond girl.

Domino or Fiona. Fiona has always been my favourite Bond girl, the series' original femme fatale.

It's been awhile since I've seen Casino Royale and I haven't seen Quantum since I saw it in theaters. I think I'll have to see them both this weekend as I've been in a Bond mood quite a bit in the last 2 days.

The jetback ruined that opening sequence for me. Just when I was enjoying it so much too. :csad:

I like it because it gets all the gadget stuff out of the way for a while. Jetpack, weird car gadgets, and then pretty down to earth from then until the final sequence (if I remember correctly, it's been awhile).

There's nothing that outlandish about the ending. There's a big harpoon shoot-out underwater, then Bond boards Largo's speedboat for a fist fight, which ends with a crash into some rocks.

I meant in terms of gadgetry, when you get the harpoon-launcher super fast air tank thing.

When I sit down and take all the films into account, Thunderball is actually my most favourite of Bond movies.

As you say, it probably has everything and it also serves as a reminer to me that on top of my wish for the makers to set the next Bond film in a colder climate (snow in the tradition of OHMSS and TSWLM etc to offest agaisnt the hot climates that theyve filmed in thus far) I do want to see him go back to the sea for some traditionaly awesome scuba action.

Thinking about it, even after two movies with Craig, it occurs to me that we're still to see an awful lot more of Craig's Bond and his world.

Yeah, and who doesnt love Christopher Lee as Scaramanga? (saying that, who doesnt love Christopher Lee as anyone?).

Always loved the 'evil doppelganger' storyline and with Red Grant, Scaramanga and Alec Trevelyan more or less each Bond has had that at some point - I wonder if its time for a new bad guy on the same level as Craig's Bond to step up to the plate?

It was quite surprising to see it sitting with a rotten score on rotten tomatoes.
It always seemed to be one of the best to me. Certainly enjoyed it more than any of the Pierce Brosnan or Danial Craig movies.

Hmm, you had me there up until 'Daniel Craig movies'......

Casino Royale blows The Man with the Golden Gun out of the water - and this is comnig from a fan of TMWTGG.

TMWTGG is actually regarded as one of the worst Bond films in the series and it's not hard to see why.

Just out of curiousity, by who?

I've been a member of the International James Bond Fan Club for years and it's certainly not regarded as that by the majority of its members.
