The Bond 23 Thread

Great. Now I'm going to have nightmares about a 3D polygon Roger Moore with a gyrating eyebrow and an enraged polygon cock. :(

I want a new Bond new actor.

No, really. I mean, I like Casino Royale ONLY as a good film, but Daniel Craig is really not Bond for me.

I didn't realize that they were making the movie for you, and you only.

Whoa. I'm just saying that I don't like Daniel Craig as Bond. Is that a bad thing? I'm not saying that make the film the way I want it to be .

All I can say is they better get this done and Craig better be on board or I will be a sad panda.

All I can say is, if they write out Quantum after all that, that would be pretty lame.

In time there will be another Bond, but I just feel like Quantum of Solace somewhat misuses Craig as Bond, being more angst driven than being a professional. It worked for the story but it didn't feel complete.

So...what I'm trying to say is that the next film probably may have a better presentation of Craig as Bond, along with 'Casino'. Either way, he'll be Bond for a while. I can see him doing maybe 2 more before he leaves. Most likely before he's 50.

I think I'm being fair with my statement. Not the first one. My intention was to rib you! :)

Ok.

I'm still gonna see the next Bond film in theaters anyway, like I did with the last two. It's just I really don't dig Craig as Bond. It's because I'm more of a fan of suave film Bond as represented by the previous five actors, rather than this serious, "true to the books" (I don't know how close is Craig to the novel Bond) version. It doesn't automatically mean though that I like the campy parts, in fact Dalton's my top Bond, followed by Connery/Brosnan in a tie position, Lazenby, then Moore, and Craig is excluded from my list. It's just a preference of course, a personal opinion, so don't attack me.

I actually like Dalton as an actor NOW moreso than I did when he was Bond. haha.

It's more a matter of it not mattering whether people do attack you. I mean, not even I respect my opinion, so why should you worry about it?

Not caring sets us free.

Who's to say this next film or any more with craig his bond will be different. He could become more classic bond for all we know.

No it traps us.

I still can't see though how Craig will act "classical" since I'm accustomed to him playing "thuggish".

I definitely want Craig to do two more after 23.

Bond is a thug. He's a thug that has been highly trained and pretends to have good manners, but he's still a thug. Unless it's Moore or Dalton playing him.

Ya it would be good development for craig bond to become more classic traits.

Is that how he was in the books?

Don't know, I haven't read a single one. But movie Bond is more of a thug than people think. Connery played him as a tough guy, his good manners and sophistication being a way of putting people at ease before he kills them. Lazenby brought a lot of physicality to the role. Moore had very little of that side to him, and Dalton was apparently the closest to the books; a highly trained, sophisticated agent, but not a thug. Brosnan surprised me with how much of a brute his Bond could be. Craig took it to another level.

Not thug, "blunt instrument." We are talking about a man who's father and uncle were in the same business as he is. He's an orphan who grew up in private schools and on the stories of wartime exploits of his father and uncle. He went to a few schools where he was the poorest kid, the orphan, he's also a pretty driven and intense child. He's also a champion athlete at school so there's a bit of jock in him too.

One could go on but he's a bit more than a thug, but he grew up tough and he's pretty brutal beneath a really thin veneer.
