I wonder will the Bourne DVD Boxset be out in time for Christmas, here's hoping!

Saw the film tonight and loved it, haven't actually seen Identity or Supremacy yet though so was slightly lost at times.

Movie of the summer. Period.

Sony, Paramount, Disney, take note: this is how you make a successful third film.

I usually don't give movies a 10 but I REEAALLYYY liked this movie! It is definitely my favorite movie of the year! If anyone is on the fence about seeing this I really encourage you to check it out.

In my newspaper yesterday, there was a little section that said Damon would be up for a fourth Bourne.

In the "Making of..." shown on MTV UK and Ireland he said he'd only consider a 4th movie if the director was to return.

Think about it this way.

If Damon gets to go back and keep making Bourne movies, he can do as many art movies as he wants and still have job security with the Bourne films.

The Bourne movies have given him a lot of freedom to stop doing **** like Stuck Together.

Do you guys think Greengrass will return?

That's not even a movie.

Stuck Together, Stuck On You, whatever the hell it's called.

The point remains the same. The Bourne movies give him great freedom to do what he desires as an artist. He can do all of his passion projects and get a nice paycheck with the Bourne flicks.

Stuck on You was an awesome movie with heart, lol.

During an appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" (1986), he announced that he and Minnie Driver broke up, even before telling her in person, just before the Oscars. Minnie found out on air.

---lmao. got taht from IMDB.

Saw it today, what a great movie!

Everything looks perfect! Story, script, action, realism (btw, for me it's the most realistic film about killer under CIA), cast, cinematography, editing and so on. It also has one of the best endings of this year!

The only problem was with script detail. Why they didn't explain Bourne's motivation to become a CIA killer?

Overall, 9 out of 10.Second best movie of this year after Zodiac

I liked it alot

the Bourne movies are nothing unique original or innovative but they are pretty flawless in there efforts

9ish outta 10 maybe 8ish

Rumor has it that about 30 min of Bourne3 were deleted. the 30 min were compiled of Jason Bourne starting a relationship with Nikki(Julia Stiles), im thankful they didnt include that, it gave the "my love is dead, there isnt another" vibe, which was great for Bourne's character.

It was pretty overtly stated in the flashbacks. He thought he'd be serving in operations that would "save American lives." The training was ****ed up beyond all belief, and he ended up killing innocent people so his superiors could get rich off an oil deal.

That's ultimately the reason he turned, because deep down he's a moral person that felt what he was doing was wrong and not what he felt he was told he'd be doing.

Thank God it didn't. I told my friend I was watching the movie with, "if anything happens between Nikki and Bourne or if they become a couple, I'm walking out of the movie." I was totally serious.

I honestly think no one wanted to see that except maybe the studio executives that sign the checks.

Ultimately I think we like Bourne because he IS monogamous.

It was a good thing they didn't show it.

Oh yeah, you're right. Thanks for making it clear for me :)

I might get ripped apart for this, I can't tell.

But I think that if, for some odd reason, Matt Damon refuses to return to the role, and they wan't to replace him, Mark Wahlberg could make a good/great Bourne.

Look at the results. It's hard to believe that Universal isn't seriously considering a 4th movie. Matt Damon has publically stated that he's not dead set against the idea which is kind of like Hollywood speak for, "if the money is there, I'll do it."

Here we have a franchise where each movie does better critically and commercially than the last. The third movie is an exception where it's met with overwhelmingly positive reaction and it's set to make over $200 million in the US and even more worldwide, totally outperforming the last two movies. Compared to other summer blockbusters, this movie was a lot cheaper at only $110 million. The budget didn't get out of control, and they got what they paid for. These movies are massively profitable in theatres and on DVD.

For Universal a sequel is almost like a no-brainer. But if they make a sequel, they'd be stupid to not do everything in their power to bring back Matt Damon. Sorry, but Mark Wahlberg isn't even an option. People see these movies for Matt Damon playing the character. You switch it to Wahlberg and people will have a hard time accepting that.

The other thing is, Wahlberg is NOT a draw. OK, maybe a minor one at best, but he is not the draw that Damon is.

I think the best thing to do is give the franchise a rest for 2-3 years. See what everyone is doing and how they are feeling at that time.

I think it would be cool if Greengrass came back for one more movie so he will have done his own Bourne trilogy, since he didn't do the first movie.

Well you know, Bourne never actually even takes revenge on Kirill or even Abbott directly.

He never even went after Kirill, it was Kirill that went after him and Bourne was simply trying to find the daughter of the couple he killed.

But it works better that Marie was "killed" because it motivates Bourne to go after people for a reason.

I still don't like that Marie was killed though. I wouldn't have killed her.
Good point

Was i the only one who was slightly dissapointed in this movie? Dont get me wrong, it is a good movie, with some GREAT parts, both action and character. But when it ended i just had a feeling of 'is that it?'

The big revelation at the end 'that he volunteered' for the project, was something that was completely obvious during the other 2 movies IMO. Plus, i thought the car chase was the worst of the trilogy.

Maybe i need to watch it again, i dont know, but IMO, Doug Liman's Bourne Identity was definately superior to both of Greengrass' efforts.
