Bumblebee The Bumblebee Spin-Off Official Thread

I for one enjoyed Bumblebee. :) 7.5/10

Also loved that the
franchise is essentially rebooted with the Autobots now on Earth again from the first time in the 80's
now.

@HBarnill ouch 4 out of 10? That's mad low. I thought from your review it was going to be a low 6 out of 10. Not combating you at all about it but how would you rate the other TF movies?

It’s more like a 4.75/10 if I’m being specific. It’s by no means terrible; just very mediocre.

TF1: 3/10
TF2: 1/10
TF3: 2/10
TF4: 1/10
TF5: 0.5/10

I’m no fan.

Y’know, thinking about it more, I think I’ll just give it a 5/10. Adding to what I said, it’s simplicity is its best strength.

A positively reviewed Transformers movie. I wonder if there's something about this in the book of Revelation? Is the end near?
All it took was someone other than Michael Bay to make one of them!

this **** is not rocket science. I already have a template for He-Man and a bunch of other 80s toys that may be turned into movies. It's not as difficult as they make it to be.

Seems Paramount campaigned for the wrong movie.

It's not embarrassing at all. I haven't read the reviews for BumbleBee but it seems like critics liked the story and the characters more than the recent Bayformers joints. But (except for TF5) the Bayformers movies are most likely better at below the line awards categories (special fx, production design etc.) than BumbleBee so the former actually had better chance at winning something.

I know some people are doing cartwheels in the streets because Michael Bay is not a part of this and we get to see Gen 1 Transformers but...well my review:

PRAISE: I appreciated the great but brief GEN 1 Transformers scenes. It was great to see some of my favorites battle it out on the big screen.
Some of the jokes worked for me
Hailee Steinfeld does her best to give the film heart while she bonds with Bumblebee. Some nice fan service moments.Great voice work, and yeah i was tapping my feet to the 80's music

PROBLEMS :As soon as the banter started between the human characters i basically knew what i was in for concerning them, some bad acting blandness !!...not as bad as the mainly foolish and cheesy characters from the previous Transformer films but still bad.
The story never really got going for me.There was this patchwork feel to it especially in the second half .

A guy who looked like he was in his 20's couldnt stay in his seat and squealed with joy every 15 minutes and my screening was sold out so there is clearly still an audience for these movies.I would still love to see a movie that just focuses on the Transformers!!

Scale of 1-10 a 5½

Yeah the Razzie Awards prove they had a good chance of winning something.

C'mon, be reasonable. Explosions and Messy Robot battle scenes don't make Award fodder.

So based on the ending does this mean they retconned the whole series?

Optimus’s team didn’t arrive on Earth until the first Transformers movie, but the ending to this movie seems to undo that, which is fine by me.

Hailee Steinfeld Gets Surprise Birthday Party at 'Bumblebee' Premiere

Steinfeld discussed preparing for the role, and finding her rhythm during the script’s rewrite. “Christina Hodson wrote an amazing script, which drew me into this world,” Steinfeld shared with THR. “Kelly Fremon Craig, who wrote and directed me in Edge of Seventeen, did the rewrite, and we had wonderful conversations about developing Charlie’s voice into what you see now.”

They should, frankly, they should have rebooted after Dark of the Moon, rather than let Bay make two more of these awful films. I have a feeling this film will not do amazing numbers, simply because Bay poisoned the well.

Without spoilers, for those who've seen it, how much Optimus do we get?

A DCEU movie getting good reviews. A Transformer movies getting good reviews.

This truly means the apocalypse is near.

Lol....Add to that an MCU movie likely getting a best picture nomination.....PG 13 Deadpool... Venom movie making 850 mil....:cwink::oldrazz:
