The Bush Thread

Absolutely not. This economic crisis was created by Clinton/Bush/Congress who passed bad laws, corporations who acted as if they could do whatever they want, consumers who spent money they didn't have, and banks who supplied money that couldn't be paid back.

Exactly....and when the Bush administration saw what was happening with Fan/Fred, the 14 memos sent to Congress about what they saw about to happen were ignored by Dodd and his committee, as were 3 pieces of legislation that didn't even get out of committee.

But there is PLENTY of blame to go around...and a (D) or an (R) beside the name does not matter, all screwed us in one way or another.

Pretty sad:

Sad, but not surprising. Remember the video of Bush on Letterman when he wiped his glasses on the woman sitting next to him? :whatever:

Good to see he feels the need to wipe his hand after shaking hands with a Haitian, and repeatedly treats people around him like toilet paper.

Oh....I didn't even see that, I was talking about what the people were going through.

Bush wipes his hand on Clinton's sleeve after shaking hands with one of the Haitians.

Really? That shows you that? Really?

I guess our lives are just too perfect to judge.

Pretty sad:

Is he really wiping his hand off on Clinton after shaking hands with the haitian...or was he just trying to get Clinton's attention to 'move along'..?

Meh, I don't care for Bush one bit, but I think this is a stretch.

One could even say that he was making a pass at Clinton. Take it any way you want, it was sad.

Regarding the hand wiping thing, I've read that GWB is apparently a bit of a germaphobe (Howard Hughes). According to Obama's account of their first meeting when Obama became a senator 5 years ago, they shook hands and GWB turned to an aide who gave him some hand sanitizer. GWB then offered some hand sanitizer to Obama and said that it "keeps you from getting colds." Here is Obama's account from his book The Audacity of Hope:

Barack Obama said:
“Obama!” he said, shaking my hand. “Come here and meet Laura. Laura, you remember Obama. We saw him on TV during election night. Beautiful family. And that wife of yours – that’s one impressive lady.”

“We both got better than we deserve, Mr. President,” I said, shaking the First Lady’s hand and hoping that I’d wiped any crumbs off my face.

The president turned to an aide nearby, who squirted a big dollop of hand sanitizer in the president’s hand.

“Want some?” the president asked. “Good stuff. Keeps you from getting colds.” Not wanting to seem unhygienic, I took a squirt.

GWB the germaphobe, who woulda guessed? Say what you will about his policies, the guy is a character. Always entertaining. :hehe:

EDIT: After researching a bit more, it's tough to say whether he's a germaphobe or just OCD in general with a lack of awareness about his behavior. This video suggests some unaware OCD:

Like I said, the guy is a character. :hehe:

What I think is funny is that he wiped his hand on Clinton's shirt. WTF is that? Use your own shirt of pants.

And W. is a germaphobe? That's a strange personality trait for someone who is supposed to be the rugged outdoors type. I bet he's scared of bugs too. "Laura, there's a cricket in the kitchen, quick come kill it."

Am I the only one that see's him standing on a chair holding a teddy bear reciting the line bell gives him?

I am deathly afraid of germs, I'm also an avid hiker.....I simply carry germ-x with me.

Maybe he didn't have any available.

It's just funny. Honestly, the guy's hand probably was disgusting. I know when I shake someone's hand and it feels wet, in the back of my mind I'm like, "guhhh". Like I said, the funny part to me was him wiping it on Clinton's shirt.
