Head's up though if the economy does turn around, Obama will get much of the credit, deserved or not. I am of the opinion the stimulus helped stabilize the markets but it did not grow them. But what do I know, as I'm not an economist? But if it turns around (which it is likely to do) Obama will have his own "morning in America," which rightly or wrongly will give him a huge edge in the history books. HCR, Finance, Energy, wars, etc. who the fudge knows how it will be judged at this point?

Any time. That was one of the few things that I approved of that Bush signed in. I have a few friends finishing up degrees right now after serving and my hope is that it will help our returning soldiers get good high paying jobs. It is at the least of what we can do for the sacrifices they make.

it makes it sooo easy. On top of taking care of 75% of tuition we also get 1500 a month for living expenses

Same here. I was very surprised to hear myself say "Yeah, ok. Good job Dubya." when that became law.

On another note, it's funny when u can look back and see that something you always thought to be true is proven. I remember the months after the Iraq war began, people marching up and down the sidewalk with signs - 'No blood for oil' and 'not one more life'. I thought to myself, 'this will last until bush is out of office because these people don't really care about the soldiers or the war, they're just drawing negative attention to bush to bring him down.' And now, where is the outrage? Soldiers still dying. obama ran on the promise that there would be an immediate withdrawal of troops and all the libs cheered. Then he said the deadline would be 8-10. Then he said he'd have to leave 50,000 troops in iraq to maintain peace. Where are all the picketers now? JUst always thought it was such hypocrisy.

I was gonna be sarcastic since that's how you chose to respond instead of trying to come up with a legitimate answer to my question (which I suppose is the way one responds when one doesn't have a legit answer but feel they must lash back in SOME way), but instead I'll just say under obama Iraq still doesn't have wmd's (unless they found their way out the back door into Syria during the month it took our troops to make their way into Bagdad - no, that makes too much sense), we're still wasting money, resources and lives, and iraq is not a threat. IOW the circumstances are still the same. Obama campaigned on the promise of immediate troop withdrawal. Clearly that didn't happen. So I'll give you another chance: where is the outrage? Where are the picketers? Why are soldiers lives so much less precious now that bush is out of office? Exactly.

And just out of curiosity, what were you saying to yourself when hussein was blocking every effort of the UN to search for evidence of the production of wmds? When bush extended deadline after deadline for invasion trying to get cooperation from sadaam but to no avail? Did you think this was the behavior of someone with nothing to hide?

I don't know that he did anything. I just saw his last post in this thread and saw that it said 'banned member' or whatever under his name. As I said, it seems that he got banned for dissing obama. I'm sure that actually isn't the case but those 2 things together sure look coincidental.
