Theory:

Wonder Woman is given a glimpse of the future through magical means. It shows Batman, one of the last heroes left alive fighting his last fight against the forces of a despotic Superman. Superman and his troopers dispatch the Dark Knight thus ensuring his total control over the world. To thwart this WW seeks out the Batman in the present to try and stop this from occurring. The hitch is that the Superman she saw in the future was not Superman, but the clone Luthor had created.

its a lot of crazy moving parts.
1) I think the Superman soldiers are hired goons or cybernetic soldiers hired by Lex to further incriminate Superman.
2) I can see Lex developing Kryptonite but not making a clone of Superman from Zod's dead body.
3) We already know that Batman goes after Superman because he lost employees in the attack on Metropolis. There's no need for WW to show him a vision that he'll rule/destroy the Earth.

Can anyone make good guesses whats with the desert batman + soldiers with S symbol?

There's a greek pantheon in the background in the shot of desert Batman walking. People have speculated that it's a vision given to Batman by Diana/Wonder Women (hence the greek influence) of what a world would be like if Superman turned into a dictator.

I know that's the comic origin but was that Kryptonian origin for her in the film totally dispelled already?

It seems DC's going more mythological than Marvel with Thor perhaps? Unless Zeus is also some sort of inter-dimensional Alien?

I don't think she does show him a vision. She HAS the vision or is given it by the Olympians or an oracle. This is her impetus to getting involved. She may never even reveal this to Batman, simply get invovlved to avert the future she is shown.

Superman is going around saving people and governments are concerned. They hold a senate hearing and Superman tells them they can't tell him what to do. Senator goes to Lex Luthor, the foremost technologically advanced person on the planet and task him with coming up a way to stop Superman...they give him Zod's body and whatever K-Tech they could find.
Meanwhile Batman is already uber pissed because Joker killed Robin but someone is really messing with his head (evidenced by the love letters he is getting). Losing a building full of people is what really turns him off to Superman.
while everyone is doing everything else Lex creates Kryptonite and is doing something else at some deserty-base thingie...something that threatens the planet. WW is the only one keeping an eye on Lex while Bats and Supes fight.
Lex has these soldiers wearing the S going around committing acts of terrorism in Superman's name (almost like Lex's plan in Birthright)

Everyone teams up to take down the desert base threat.

That's an interesting point about Jason Todd's death is still fresh in Bruce's mind of it recently in the DC movie universe. It makes the solo batman movie that much more interesting.

Sounds quite possible. It's just, it didn't strike me in the trailer that Supes was there to stop those kneeling soldiers, or maybe he was going for their boss so he didn't want to lose any time with them. But if they work for Lex, why are they kneeling to Superman? They mistook him for Bizzarro?

Also, that last scene with Superman flying and Wonder Woman sending shockwave looks like some sort of factory complex. it's not exactly urban, but it doesn't seem like same location to me. I've been trying to find a gif of it, but to no avail.

I'm really loving what I'm seeing from Ben so far, I think he's going to NAIL it as Batman. This trailer is what WB needed, fantastic!

I think DC wants magic to be magic. They already got the Alien with Superman.

Though in Marvels defense. Thor, Odin, Frigga, and Loki all still use magic. Yeah they are from space but they use bonafide magic and not some special tech.

I am totally "meh" on Birthright. I liked Lex, but disliked the "they both were in Smallville" aspect. Also, the whole vegan Superman and "soul vision"? Not a fan. Thought it actually is kinda lifeless all around.

The vegan deal I wasnt big on. Soul vision too. But i did like that he could see different wavelenths of light.
