Agreed.
The white martian storyline from Morrison's JLA should work, if they want to go that way (although that might not work initially...since the League in that story line was composed of experienced members).
Well, to know what he's doing, he has to gain experience, and that takes time. In the new 52, they simply skipped 5 years - so we had a more experienced Superman. Doubt they will do the same in the movieverse - BvS seems to happen right after MOS.
I dont think it happens right after, even at the end of MOS Metropolis looked like it was in pretty decent shape. Add in that Lois and Clark are living together and I would guess it has been at least a year to a year and a half later.
I am not saying Clark should be the Reeve version of perfection but we already had Superman Begins we saw Clark's baby steps from alien with no path to Earth's Savior. He can have moments where he is unsure of what his role is (like the scene with Lois from the trailer) but overall he should be saving people and doing what is right. If anything I would rather he be a bit overconfident, trying to do too much which gets him in trouble over making rookie mistakes.
