He's just discussing the idea of it Krypton.

shauner hasn't been around here recently and it sounded to me like he thought there was a lot of evidence for this idea when it was totally generated by fans. That's all. His post sounds like he thinks this is a fait accompli.

Oh ok. For anyone out there reading through, it's just a fan theory for fun. It is more layered and interesting than the Doomsday/Zod argument to me. However nobody has a real sense of what is going to happen. Very exciting in a way though :D I'd love to see just a small glimpse where you don't know who the villain is, but see a confirmation that there is indeed a physical villain. That would be amazing

So it's just a fan that suggested this? Or is there more to it, as a rumor?

Looking at that with a very limited scope.

This is a virus that can transform a regular human into a metahuman hunter, with the capability of Superman's powers as well as shape shifting. You have the added complexity of the heroes not wanting to destroy these OMACS as it will mean killing a human. I think it sounds cool, but realistically have no idea how likely it is. Still seems more plausible at this stage than Doomsday currently to me.

The technology can setup other characters in the cyborg realm, Metallo, hell even can introduce Brainiac eventually.
Im sure this can lead to Brainiac etc, like you said. It could be the right move for them to set up their future villains. But the concept is still incredibly boring to me at this point. I feel like i was done with it after the first time (blank army who aren't human, attacking a group of characters). It's like the go-to lazy villain idea for superhero movies now.

Ironically this has become a rumor BECAUSE it's a fan theory. Basically, this was generated on the hype and suddenly other outlets picked up on it and started running it as a "rumor". Honest to God, that's what happened.

It was actually a theory that was a group effort on this forum, and ended up getting picked up by various sites as a legit theory, compared to the Doomsday assertion.

I like Jae's synopsis of the theory.

comicbookmovi.com site had pretty much lifted the entire forum version of the theory...

The OMAC Theory more plausible than DOOMSDAY?

"It’s about safety. This is a product that will protect you, and everyone, from threats you don’t even know about yet. I don’t want to scare anybody… much. But there are a lot of threats out there, and they’re here today.”

The OMAC (Omni Mind and Community) is a cyborg army originally designed to protect humanity from the "threat" of metahumanity.

After numerous unsuccessful experiments in genetic and mechanical grafts, the Project turned to using nanotechnology to convert otherwise ordinary individuals into Superhuman Soldiers called OMACs. Able to quickly generate a veritable army of such soldiers simply by introducing the OMAC nanobytes into an unwitting populace. Checkmate placed administrative control of OMAC units under the Brother MK I satellite recently "acquired" from the Superhero Batman. While initially a supporter of the spirit of the Project, Batman realized just how out of control the Project had become after the Infinite Crisis incident. As a result, he has made motions to stop the Project both politically as Bruce Wayne and personally as the Batman.

^ Hopefully, the next trailer offers more clues to back up your theory.

Well as always it depends how you play it. If they play the OMACs like the Agents in the Matrix that differentiates them from the rest. Anyone, anywhere at any time can become a Metahuman hunter...could be scary and fun.

If the Lex/OS is Brother Eye (before it becomes OMAC), I would like to see it being portrayed like The Machine in Person Of Interest.

I believe that this is the perfect blueprint for Brother Eye/OMAC.
Just listen to Harold's description of the Machine.
This sounds very similar to Lex Luthor's description of the product.

When pressed, the youthful mogul will only hint. “It’s about safety. This is a product that will protect you, and everyone, from threats you don’t even know about yet. I don’t want to scare anybody… much. But there are a lot of threats out there, and they’re here today.”

If this OMAC theory ends up being true and the Doomsday rumors false, then my faith in this franchise is restored to new heights. Doomsday made no sense, OMAC definitely makes more sense.

I doubt Zod's corpse would warrant an appearance in the trailer if it didn't play into the new threat/villain in a major way. Both kryptonite testing and something OMAC-related feel pretty non-meaningful in that regard, especially the latter.

Now Brainiac, the idea that he springs out of the LexOS as a hybrid of Kryptonian/Luthor tech is looking pretty tidy and easy to see happening. But considering that JL is a two-parter and that Darkseid will probably feature at some point, I like to imagine a double whammy of him and Brainiac as back-to-back threats, with the two being connected somehow... to justify the Part 1 and 2 format. To have both of them serve as catalysts of major cosmic ideas. And then bring Lex's obsessive pursuit of knowledge into it, like in JLU. If the Lex/OS idea already gives Brainiac a history of galaxy-hopping villainy, cool, because he can be more interesting than just a simple AI.

what if the bracelets clashing causes some sort of electrical pulse that she uses on the OMACS (if that's what the bad is, just speculating)

If they are doing Brainiac then Darkseid, I like the idea of Brainiac trying to preserve cities from Darkseid.

Maybe Brainiac will have have something to do with the kryptonian technology that allowed Zod to take over all of Earth's communications when he sent out that message.

Maybe Lex notices notices the potential of this tech and develops it further, figuring out how to spy on everyone or something, playing into the LexOS stuff.

So what if Ben is Lex' father

Could be. I think it's just a forcefield though. Diana putting the bracelets together is how she blocks bullets and the like, but it's kinda silly considering how small the surface area is, especially in comparison to the shield she's carrying. So maybe they upgraded the iconic defensive pose to allow her to protect not only herself but everyone around her.

Those scenes dont look like they belong next to each other and i dont think thats a force field, you can see everything in its path burning away if you really pay attention to it.

Yeah, that looks like an editing trick, I don't think those scenes follow on one another.

That whole trailer was edited to obfuscate a lot of detail, especially the scenes where one hero appears to be fighting another.

There is also fire in many other scenes. So what if that is part of the OS weaponry somehow

I love PoI and the parallels from that show to Batman are many. It's basically an even more grounded take on Batman. One that divides up the Bruce Wayne /Batman persona into two individuals. Reese is the Batman part and Finch is Bruce Wayne/Alfred/Oracle all rolled into one. The Machine is Brother Eye/Batcomputer, Carter is Gordon,Fusco is Bulloch,Zoe is Catwoman,Shaw is the Huntress/Batgirl ...

Never thought of Lex creating the OMACs in BvS, but that could be pretty great.

And Jonathan Nolan created the show.....
