BvS The BvS Rumor/Speculation Discussion Thread! - Part 3

Given all of the "The Dark Knight Returns" influences going on in this film, I wouldn't be surprised if they have Superman be the one to pull off the fake "death" scenario that Batman did in the comics.

I mean instead of having "The Sons of Batman", we have a rogue military group who's going around and doing things with Superman's insignia on their shoulders. And this time around, Superman's actions is what's riling up the government, not Batman's, so I could see them giving him a "fake death" scenario for something relating to the plot.

Plus, I have to believe that when Kevin Tsujihara said that the film sets up the DC Universe nicely (after having watched a cut of the film), it has to imply that Superman is well and alive at the end of the film because he's vital towards establishing the Justice League.

What is the most likely rumour on how BvS will end?

I remember that synosis that "leaked" a while back that seems to have nearly everything correct (for now), they said that it end with Supes/Bats/WW and Aquaman at the Kent Farm and they talk about recruiting the rest of the team.

That'd be pretty cool to see in live action. It's like seeing Nick Fury talk about the Avengers Initiative with Tony Stark, but on a much grander scale with 4 heroes.

Oh man.... that would be awesome!

Yeah I don't know why but something about all these huge Superheroes hanging around a farm in Kansas is awesome to me.

Could you imagine Ma Kents reaction to Clark rocking up at her door with Batman, WW and a guy with tats and dreads with his shirt off.

I still want a "My mother's name was Martha too" moment between Bruce and Ma Snyder!!!!

Lawd have mercy I forgot about that! I so so so want that too. I really hope that them "teaming up" mostly has to do with getting to know each other, their parents, their past etc.. Not just Wonder Woman rockin up and saying, "hey dick heads, bigger enemy here!"

Well the subtitle for this film is "Dawn of Justice", so there will definitely be some kind of team-up/pairing of the heroes involved in this film to allude to their future group status.

I remember awhile back when everyone was speculating on where the JL base would be located. Talk about operating in plain sight. I love the Kent Farm idea.

*Ma Kent opens the barn door*

Ma: Clark, I brought some fresh lemonade for your club...
Superman: Jesus, Ma, I already told you, IT'S NOT A CLUB! It's called the Justice League!

:hehe: She better bake some cake for Superman's playmates. Just don't invite Lex Luthor.

Anyway, Batman would never go with this idea of operating at Kent farm, besides, Kent farm as a base has plenty of weaknesses.

D

Ma Snyder or Ma Kent?

Better check with Sigmond and get back on the couch.

:cwink:

I don't actually think it'd happen. The only real explanation for it is for them to get off the grid, but it's way too similar to something we already saw earlier this year.

This is why I don't think the big "bad" is Doomsday. If you're gonna have doomsday in the film, Superman has to die.

I don't think Superman is dying in this movie.

Why? Superman and Doomsday have met in several stories where Superman survived, including in comics, the Justice League cartoon and Smallville. I don't want to see a "Death of Superman/Reign of the Supermen" adaptation in the movies but I would love to see Doomsday.

Not to mention, if Doomsday is the final boss, so to speak, then it does add an element of danger to fans who do associate Doomsday as Superman's killer.

Maybe it's the juxtaposition of these larger-than-life figures with the earnest atmosphere of a farm in Kansas? That's what I had in mind when I was imagining that scene.
