How anyone believed that is beyond me. 60 million f ing dollars?
Really? You dont think WB offered him, at least close to 50 million to return? Come on. Of course they did. It would probably be a contract for two films. Doesn't Downey get paid 50 mill for Avengers. Damn straight they would have done the same for Christian.

Rumor: Phoenix and Denzel up for Lex.

Conclusion: We get a Facebook Lex.

Phoenix was never up for the role. WB was just looking at him.

The "evidence" suggesting that WB wanted Bale back exists only in the minds of the people who want to believe it. I'm sure there were conversations, but I think the idea that they went and offered him the role, knowing in their hearts he'd accept, only to have him turn it down which forced them to go back to the drawing board and rewrite a whole film...well I think that's just damn ridiculous.

Rumor: Lex to be a tattooed, skinhead, street smart, tough gangster kid.

Conclusion: That's actually what David S Goyer's Facebook description is.

Supplemental: Apparently the 'WB wants Christian Bale back' rumor was started by the Sun. The Sun reported that WB offered him $60 Million to return.

Actually, it wasn't started by The Sun. It was started by the writer of some Batman encyclopedia.

Doesn't sound ridiculous at all. Rewrite a whole film? Obviously not. Why would they have to rewrite a whole film if they're still carrying the same premise of a 40 something Bruce Wayne getting back into it? Just a few adjustments and off to a reboot we go.

No, why would they offer him a random amount of ridiculous money? You have any proof that they did? Didn't think so

Lujho first brought it to our attention that someone who occasionally posts on the Brotherhood of the Bat message forum under the alias of Kyodai said the following on March 16, 2014:

"Hmmm....I see it now. 2 batsuits. Both are based entirely on the art of Frank Miller. Regular suit is spandex with 3d printed diagonal line texture. 1 piece rubber cowl. Textured rubber coated cape. Stubby ears, fat chest emblem, and squared fins. Gray and black.

The other suit...it's from the same comic as the first one, and it's the perfect thing to wear while kicking Kryptonian butt, (spiked boot soles and all)."

On May 13, 2014, the new Batman costume was revealed in some of its glory.

Although we've yet to see a full color image, the details mentioned above appear to be fairly accurate.

If people are rewarded for "close enough", I would have a 3.0 GPA.

I don't understand why people think it'd be a few minor changes. To quote Boom in the Ben Affleck thread:

Seriously. Did people watch the ending of The Dark Knight Rises? That movie concluded with:

Batman and Bruce Wayne declared dead.
The Wayne Estate and all of its assets liquidated, save for Wayne Manor which was donated to foster care.
Bruce living in Italy with Selina.

Not exactly a "simple" rewrite to bring the Nolan Batman into the fold, is it? Not without completing undermining the conclusion and thematic significance to Nolan's trilogy.

Why would they? Is that a serious question?

People watch Iron Man for RDJ. People watch Batman for Batman and whoever is playing the bad guy. Bale, beloved as he is, would never get a $50 mil offer.

We're talking about a comic book movie scoop here. There's no rewards. Come on! :funny: Don't get me wrong, the guy's been way off before. I give credit where credit is due though. Gal was in fact the front runner; and she's in the movie.

I appreciate the posts...I am focusing on the untrue. I want to cut the untrue fat before we start listing the true meat (God Im hungry)

I had faith in Campea when he started dropping all those WW hints. I thought that he was really on to something, and he was practically dancing around AMC Movie Talk, dropping hints and looks that made seem that Alexander was Wonder Woman. When Gal was announced as WW, he looked completely shocked that WW was in the film, the fact that Alexander wasn't WW, and the fact that Gadot was WW. That whole situation is astounding and peculiar to me.

WW being in this movie was the worst kept secret in Hollywood.

This. I am a small time screenwriter and the few casting contacts I have said they were treating the 'love interest' role as Wonder Woman.

It seems pretty obvious that Affleck has been the man from day one. They'd probably chose Affleck over Bale 9/10 for Batman.
