The Cameos

well, the movie verse has reworked many of the mutants ages, so movie-wise Gambit would be older than the core x-men (X1), just like how Rogue's younger

besides in the comic is Storm older than Gambit?

Stan Lee. I was responding to Robin, who asked why would Stan Lee appear in a movie about a character he didn't create.

I'm surprised people aren't mad that this means Quicksilver probably won't be in an Avengers movie. I am.

Oh. Whoops, my bad.:oldrazz:

Well, if you think about it, even though he wasn't responsible for the creation of the lead, I think he popped up in Blade, and IIRC he didn't create him either.

Well, technically, he wasn't called that in the movie, so you never know.:cwink: But knowing Fox they'd just ***** about it and have their way in the end. Plus, funny how Magneto never mentioned the fact Stryker imprisoned his son in X2...:hehe:

I always knew this would happen as I suspected Fox had the rights.

The only thing that makes me sad is that they probably won't use the characters for anything useful. They've been absent for three films and now all they get is a cameo. If they don't have a role in Magneto or First Class then I'll be REALLY pissed.

That's stupid. Beast was also a member of Avengers, yet no one moaned about Beast being in X-Men.

Why be 'mad' over a super-speed character who was never even referred to as Quicksilver?

How do we know this character will end up in X-Men: First Class being called Quicksilver? And, even if he did, he belongs as much to the X-Men stories as Avengers.

For all we know, it might be Northstar instead.

Probably because Beast has a greater and more popular with the X-Men then with the Avengers. Honestly, I think Quicksilver is a cool character, and I'd love to see him in an actual role, whether it be in X-Men or Avengers, but now that Fox has him, then they might as well put him to good use, though that's easier said than done.

I also think because its been quite a while since Beast was associated with the Avengers. Maybe back in the 80s it would have created more of an upset (I personally loved Beast on the Avengers, especially his interactions with Wonder Man).

Exactly. When someone, either they're a hardcore fan or a casual fan, hears about Beast, their mind goes towards X-Men. With Qucksilver, it can go either way, though I think he's done a lot more as an Avenger than in the X-Men universe.

The cameos in this film were pretty cool to see, IMO. My god, it was awesome seeing Quicksilver even for a brief moment. Same for Banshee, but it took me a few minutes to realize who it was.

I didn't catch Banshee, but that makes sense. Interesting. If WOLVERINE is indeed in X-MEN continuity, it means Banhsee must have gotten busy right after he escaped in order to have fathered Siryn, who is seen in X2 when the mansion gets invaded.

Other than the obvious Cyclops and Emma frost, i think i spotted

Iceman (could be a girl) (could be fire powered, like someone earlier said)
Toad (with toad-like tongue out)
Riptide (spinning in a tornado)
Quicksilver (has rubberband stuff tied to him so he cant "blast out" of his cage)
Scarlet Witch (Goth looking girl)
Psylocke (another goth looking girl, purple streak in hair)

Red hair boy is... either Chamber or Banshee? (mouth covered? i didnt notice)

I associate Pietro with Avengers more than X-Men.

Correct me if im wrong, but i dont think the "iceman" is Bobby, because he doesnt know how to 'ice cube mode' till X3 when he fights Pyro. But in this movie, he is in ice-cube mode. (his appearance in this movie was too fast for anyone to really pay attention tho.... ppl in my theater were saying to each other "iceman! iceman!")

The Ice-person wasn't Bobby because the girl in the frozen cage was a black haired girl, not a blonde haired boy.

so theres a possibility shes fire powered and the cage is meant to "ice" her down? :S

oh, and it would be interesting if the "toad" was the boy Wolvy was carrying in X2 because he sticks his tongue out at Stryker! =p

Like it was mentioned before, that kid hasn't even been born yet.

If you read the comics (have you by the way?) you would've known that at some point Storm was reduced to a child by the Shadow King, that's why in that part, that was cut out of the final movie, she's so young. Later she was returned to her own self, I don't remember how though, and she was her own age again.
These movies dont really follow the comics exactly, so i doubt they would do that. Plus I bet alot of people would be confused.
And thats was an incredibly rude thing to say, of course Ive read the X-Men comics, maybe not all of them ,but I have read my fair share of X-MEN comics.

So is the red headed guy in the back Banshee?
Im guessing the guy with the bleached hair is Pietro.
And what about that girl? Could she be Danielle Moonstar?

It works well and fit into the continuity with X2. Sean Cassidy's name appears on Strykers files in X2 as well as Moonstar and Pietro.
And on Wikipedia(yes, unreliable, but so what) it says that Banshee does appear as one of the captured mutants.
Also, Alpha Flight member Vindicator is in the movie also. She is the old woman who takes in Wolverine after the Weapon X experiment.

I'll hesitate a guess and say that the girl is either Cecilia Reyes or (the new) Cipher. I can't think of any other African-American woman with dreadlocks from the comics other than those two... hang on, another sprang to mind, but I can't place the name. She was amongst the Acolytes and still around too. Indestructible she was.
