Amber Rose Revah of Marvel's The Punisher fame.

She's got chops but her acting is not good enough to go toe to toe with Pattinson

Eh, I'd say she looks more catlike than mouselike. And mouselike fits relatively well in my opinion, anyway, better than some animal comparisons that could be made.

Agreed. Felicity Jones would be a bore in the role, imo.

Seriously, Fincher? She turned the notorious RBG into a soft spoken, mousy character in a lot of scenes. Her attempts at RBG's fiery advocacy were less than convincing. Most of the time in the movie she looked dazed and unsure. If she can't pull off a strong woman like RBG, she can't pull off Selina Kyle.

Wilde should direct either the Supergirl movie or the Batgirl one.

Gonna have to disagree with you guys. Im not sure I would classify Anne Hathaway as an A-list name prior to 2012. I had no idea who she was when she was cast.
Then you were in the minority. She'd already headlined multiple $150-300mil grossing popular films (Princess Diaries, The Devil Wears Prada, Get Smart), was one of the big name draws in a billion dollar grosser (Alice in Wonderland), headlined other movies herself on the regular, had already been nominated for her first Oscar for Rachel Getting Married, after her previous tour on the awards circuit for Brokeback Mountain. She was hella famous.

I was responding to what you said about her features, nothing to do with her acting.

Casting established actresses for Selina has worked out well for WB so far. They'll probably do the same here

Taking the above into further consideration, virtually any of the following actresses could end up on the shortlist for the role. Note: I'm by no means endorsing them all, just trying to narrow down the list of potential candidates.

Most Popular (A-List?)

Rebecca Ferguson
Emma Watson
Emilia Clarke
Dakota Johnson
Felicity Jones
Jennifer Lawrence
Emma Stone
Kristen Stewart
Anna Kendrick

Rising Stars
Vanessa Kirby
Ana de Armas
Margaret Qualley
Naomi Scott
Lily James
Gugu Mbatha-Raw
Zoe Kravitz
Natalie Dormer
Gemma Arterton
Alicia Vikander
Lily Collins

I will say, it bodes well for her career that the second trailer for Hobbs & Shaw makes a big deal out of highlighting Vanessa Kirby as one of its stars, even blasting off her name near the end alongside the Rock, Jason Statham and Idris Elba. Definitely seems like Hollywood is interested in elevating Kirby to an A-List star.

Granted, kinda sucks that said-trailer is one of the more obvious "Here's the whole plot of the film" trailers I've seen recently. So potential spoiler warnings if you haven't seen the trailer already by now.

I'd be for Emma Stone personally, but both of them have been in Marvel movies before, so I'm not sure if that necessarily removes them from consideration.

Also, what do you guys think of Alicia Vikander? Although her face doesn't exactly scream Catwoman, her character in Ex Machina is a bit reminiscent of Catwoman's, especially towards the end.

(Edit: saw she's been mentioned recently, but not a whole lot of mentions. For me she's one of those names that might be able to pull it off, but at the same time I'm unsure about her.)

Here's what I think the shortlist will look like based on established actresses and age range (I'm 99% sure they'll use the same age range they used for Batman. I really don't see why they wouldn't.):

-Lily James.
-Alexandra Daddario
-Vanessa Hudgens.
-Emma Watson
-Anna Kendrick.
-Ana de Armas
-Emilia Clarke
-Jennifer Lawrence
-Kaya Scodelario
-Blake Lively
-Zoe Kravitz
-Lily Collins
-Vanessa Kirby
-Alicia Vikander
-Daisy Ridley

Who else is 25-33 and famous?

I don't think Dakota Johnson will be considered because she really can't play sexy and also, having the male lead of Twilight and the female lead of 50 Shades as your Batman and Catwoman brings too much baggage and I think the studio and Reeves would rather have the movie have its own identity than live in the shadow of teenage porn

I expect Lucy Boynton to be on the list.

Sweet lawd. Breh, you are way too dramatic with these casting list things. lol

Dakota Johnson has actually gone the Pattinson route and worked with auteur directors post 50 Shades. She is a great actress. Hell, her name would more likely be on that list over your suggestions of Daddario and Hudgens. I would bet money on that.

Yeah, Dakota Johnson was pretty damn impressive in the Suspiria remake. I could see her landing Catwoman, even if she's not my first choice.

The difference is, 50 Shades is waaaay too recent still. She still needs a few years ahead of her to distance herself.

I really don't think she'll even be considered. There are better actresses for the part.

I think I may have been wrong about Ana De Armas' accent. She seems to have improved a lot in the 3 years since she shot Blade Runner.

I don't mind Selina having an accent. My concern was that the tonal inflections and nuances of the performance would be lost to the accent. That doesn't seem to be an issue for De Armas at all.

I mean, it was really the only thing holding me back from wanting her for the role considering she has the perfect look and the Cuban ancestry being a plus.

Margaret Qualley is definitely on the rise and by the time the movie shoots she'll be 25 so maybe she'll get considered. Admittedly I think how far she goes will depend on whether or not she can pull a more mature/seductive look in the screentest. I'd be curious to see her in a role like this though, if not Catwoman then another femme fatale in another movie, would be an inreresting challenge for her.

If De Armas has chemistry with Pattinson the part will definitely be hers

Possibly. It's going to be a combination of chemistry and ability to show the range needed for Selina. Granted I think De Armas is a very strong contender for the part, but she hasn't shown as much range (yet) as someone like Vanessa Kirby per se. Still one of my favorites for the role though and it helps quite a bit that she looks like Joelle Jones' Selina Kyle brought to life.

She'd definitely be a great pick for the part IMO.
