I have yet to see an unattractive actress discussed in this thread. Meanwhile, plenty of actresses have been suggested who have stronger filmographies/pedigrees than her (though I do confess to having only seen one of her movies).

But yeah, she's consistently fancast everywhere I go online. Like top 3. I don't get it. What powerhouse performance did I miss?

I think Ana de Armas is definitely gonna be in some shortlist for the role... but she's not gonna go much farther than that. I don't see Reeves casting her, and I don't see her skills matching Pattinson.

Better question, why are some of these great directors casting her? Fukunaga, Villenueve, RJohnson, Boyle, Assayas, Andrew Dominik etc. Hnnngh looks can only take her so far, so she gotta have some acting chops. Eh.

Nah, I don't think @Boom was being snarky about it, he genuinely was curious to know why she gets fan cast a lot. I just think it makes better sense once you see her recent receipts.

I have no doubt De Armas is talented... but is she talented enough to portray the edge, complexity and depth Catwoman should have? I have my doubts about that, especially next to Pattinson.
