The Clinton Thread II - Part 2

Nothing suspicious about this statement coming less than two weeks before the election with practically no information. Comey is such a slimeball.

That's Asianwashing! :argh:

Emma Stone can play Michelle Obama. :o

But seriously, there is some resemblance between Hillary and Ming Na, ethnicity aside. And a slightly similar voice too.

As I understand it its not even really a reopening, its just the FBI have heard of some new e-mails and they are going to give them a look to see if they have anything to do with the investigation. They have no idea about what is in any of the e-mails or anything like that.

Oh right, US stock markets reacted badly, S&P fell 1%..rebounded a bit now though. This thing never dies!

The most absurd of the faux-scandals involved a Christmas card the Clintons sent out in 1997. It wasn’t the card that caught Burton’s eye so much as the database of contact information the Clintons used to send it, which included the names and addresses of 350,000 of people they had met since moving into the White House.

“Congressional Republicans knew it was a scandal!” Maddow said, in a mock Columbo voice. “They suspected something nefarious. They thought the Christmas card list was somehow corrupt, criminal, an abuse of power. So Republicans held hearings. Republicans called up thirty-four witnesses to give depositions about the Christmas card list. They demanded more than 40,000 documents about the Christmas card list. They held days of hearings on the Christmas card list. And they accuse liberals of waging war on Christmas?”

“Despite all the hearings and the depositions and all the rest of it,” Maddow continued, “the Republican investigations into the Christmas card list turned up nothing. Sometimes a Christmas card is just a Christmas card.”

FBI reopening Clinton email investigation.

they arent "reopening" anything.

Read Comey’s actual letter.

They’re reviewing newfound e-mails to determine whether or not they are relevant to their investigation. If they were “reopening” the investigation, they would have already completed this step.

Don't think it'll hurt Clinton though, especially since so many people are already voting, and they're not likely to find any evidence before election day. Plus they never really closed the case in the first place to begin with.

Liberals loved him a month ago.

Lamest October surprise ever:

1. Case not reopened. 2. Comey had tocorrect testimony. 3. Involves 3 emails whose classification must be determined. 4. None w/held by HRC.

In other words it's nothing. So help me if this causes a lost Senate seat.

No they didn't. He came out and said the investigation was over and they didn't find anything and then immediately after talked about a bunch of stuff regarding the investigation that fueled Republicans even more. I don't remember a single liberal that "loved" him after that.

Yeah. That was just the headline at the time. Breaking news from me dude, I'm ahead of the game. ;)

Apparently it is to do with e-mails found on a device belonging to Anthony Weiner

http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/10/2...mtyp=cur&_r=0&referer=https://www.google.com/

Which raises questions on whats going on with the Weiner case that its gone federal.

It's probably an email his wife sent would be my guess. Only way this makes any sense. So on top of being a humongous dick who ruined his marriage he probably also just ruined his soon to be ex wife's career. Classy guy.

If this were anything major the Clinton campaign would never in a million years release a statement like this:

Good on Podesta for calling Comey's bluff. Probably the smartest move they could make politically on this.

It really annoys me that that this is the top headline for the day when it's really a non-story and it's going to get widely misinterpreted due to poor communication on Comey's part, but whatever.

While Comey didn't help the big issue was Chaffetz saying that the case was being reopened and the media reporting that without bothering to look at what Comey had actually written.

Yeah, the media sloppiness here is annoying too. However, the one upside to it being reported this way is there's no way from any tinfoil hat wearing crazies to claim anything is rigged or that they're burying the story.

All this really shows is how desperate Trump is at this point that his campaign is clutching at this like it'll be some sort of deathblow.

The media wants this to be a huge October surprise.

October suprise = big ratings boost

But looking at more emails doesn't mean "reopening investigation" and if it did the FBI should've been far more specific.

It could be nothing or it could be something.

Heres how it COULD be something big:

Clinton bleached and wiped clean everything she needed to wipe clean. FBI investigates and as a result cant find anything enough to recommend charges.

Enter Anthony Weiner. He's investigated now for sexting a 15 yr old girl. He hands over his device to the FBI. The FBI dumps out all the data to his device, and I'm sure gets search warrants for his emails, servers, etc.

What does the FBI find? The very stuff HRC wiped clean on her devices but she still transmitted it to Weiner or to Huma who in turn sent it to Weiner.

So that brings them back to Clinton.

Thats how it could be worst case scenario.

I work in criminal investigations. Happens all the time. A suspects phone may contain no information but their accomplices or friends/coworkers/associates phones are a gold mine to bring evidence back against the suspect.

If a suspect wipes their devices clean, the suspect ALSO has to wipe clean any and all devices they ever sent incriminating evidence to (so friends, family, etc)...

Okay - for those more well-versed in this debacle:

A) Who is Anthony Weiner?
B) Are there good reasons why he would have information related to Clinton?
C) Why should people care?

Anthony Weiner is a former Congressman who's become a bit of a running joke by what seems like a pathological inability to keep his pants on. Sex scandal after sex scandal.

His estranged wife Huma Abedin is a top aid to Clinton.

The FBI supposedly stumbled across new e-mails relating to Hillary after seizing electronic devices used by Weiner in an investigation of him sexting a 15-year-old girl.

Thanks

On the surface that's a little embarrassing but if the contents of the emails aren't relevant I don't see how it's relevant in any meaningful way. If there's classified information I suppose it's possible that could pull up legal technicalities but I'm not sure how that would find its way back to Clinton unless she personally emailed him.

Sounds more likely he would've got the emails from the estranged wife?

Not exactly what the Clinton campaign would've wanted at the 11th hour though, but it seems a little farfetched to think anything additional will come of it.

Except the new e-mails were not from HRC, she did not send them, they did not come from her server, and had nothing to do with the investigation. They are apparently 3 e-mails found on a device belonging to Weiner which were of unknown classification. In other words they are trying to figure out if they contain information that was classified.
