Has it been confirmed though, in any interviews or by extras?

Kinda. There is a scene where the two of them try to attend a ballet together, only to find it was cancelled for the night due to a party held by mr. Bruce Wayne. They also attend some sort of dinner party together, and in an interview Eckhart mentions his "fiance"

Yea I know the scenes, but she's involved in his campaign as well, endorsing him and such which I know is confirmed!

Maybe Nolan used clever editing in the trailer to make it appear they are a couple, because if it has not been completely confirmed maybe there is a chance that Dent is involved with a different woman entirely!

Maybe. It is also possible that by the time the movie roles in, Dent has already been elected as D.A, and all the campaign stuff is just to get hype for the movie.

Yea that could be a possibility. We know the movie takes place pretty soon after the first one ended, but i've been wondering if there is any big time lapses in the Dark Knight. Like say for instance, months go by while everything is unfolding with the Joker and the criminal organizations while Batman is fighting crimes and trying to figure out what is going on? Is it a continue set of events or are there time gaps?
