The Dark Knight The Composite Christopher Nolan Interview Thread

An interesting interview. But I don't know why people are getting worried about whether or not Nolan will return for the third instalment, because I would bet dollars to dingleberries that he'll be there alright! He'll wake up one day, and realize that he's bored out of his mind and the only way to suffocate this bordem is by making a film. Trust me, he'd have to be mad to miss out on MORE money!!

Good interview. I do like how he views making movies. As if every one he is doing at the moment is his last movie. Sounds like under the radar he is planning for BB3. Cuz there was that talk of his bro working on the early script for Shadow of the Bat.

I really respect Nolan. Seems like he could have a very deep conversation with anyone.

Ditto. I love how he approaches making films, which is the way a movie should be made, otherwise you'd have too much else on your mind and you lose a bit of focus on your current work.

And yet I assure you that this will not put an end to Harley Quinn speculation, manips, and squabbling.

Nice interview. I liked what he had to say about the joker.

Good interview. I just don't agree that permanent white skin couldn't apply to the realistic take he's going for.

Nothing new really but still a very good read.

I just love the way Nolan talks about the characters and how careful he is with everything he says. I'm just thankful that we have Nolan directing TDK so I don't wanna worry about the third movie right now. Obviously I hope that Nolan is going to finish what he started.

GODDD i love this:
"NOLAN: It’s nothing like we expected at all, which is just fantastic. It’s very hard to describe and very hard to pin down. He’s just got an incredible range to the voice and the way in which he uses it. It goes from being quite high-pitched and eccentric to having these sort of moments of extraordinary anger and power where you just feel this guy’s anger at things. He’s very charismatic, but really quite frightening. "

terrific find:up:

from what i read...sounds like he'll be back for 3.
hopefully more

Great interview. Though I don't agree with Nolan that these "certain elements" couldn't have fit in this world. That seems to kind of confirm a lot of people's opinions that Nolan is kind of limiting himself.

Yeah, the true form of the Penguin would fit. As would a more psychologically-based Riddler. Hell, even Hugo Strange, Firefly, Abbaitor and some 4th rate villains would work.

It would be interesting to see his version of Penguin, and I absolutely love Burton's dark version. Him and scarecrow are on my list of best portrayed villains; imo.

Thanks, great read!

Nice find. I like that Nolan is just focusing on this film for now, but he always gets me worried when he refuses to acknowledge sequels. We all know he has a planned trilogy, so I really hope he gets to finish this entire story out before packing his bags. Don't pull a Singer on us, man. :o

I still want to see the official press release that states Chris Nolan is signed for three films, as people on these boards claim he is to be. :o

Please nolan! Stay for a third film!

I would love for that but I am not holding my breath. I have a feeling that the JLA film will have a dramatic effect on the landscape of DC superhero films which includes Singer/Routh Superman and Nolan/Bale Batman.

I'm pretty sure that's dead in the water. The strike's killing things left and right, and it's a pretty bad sign if absolutely no fanboy wants to see it and they changed the name.

Nolan's already had a much more dramatic affect on the superhero landscape than many other movies. BB was what opted Universal to give Superman Returns a shot with a more realistic setting.

A lot of the actors are signed on for three films. I have no idea if Nolan is. I doubt it. But I can't see him walking away, either.

Also, I'm sure Warner Brothers is willing to compensate him with money out the ass hole if TDK does what everyone is expecting it to do. The hype for this is huge for anyone with a computer.

Eh, it's WB we are dealing with. They are not the brightest bunch. I hope you are right though.

Excellent find. The way Nolan talks about these films is above and beyond what makes me the most confident about them.
