Been busy with the holidays and will probably be pretty busy for the rest of the week but I will be getting a hefty post in tonight.

The sad thing is that's only really half of what I was planning on doing with the post. I had to cut myself off because it got much longer much quicker than I anticipated. I'll do the second half as my next post, I guess.

Same. I try to remind myself that it's quality, not length, that matters, but sometimes you just feel prouder about a nice, long post. Shows you put a lot of thought into it, I guess.

To be honest, part of the reason I don't post as frequently as I should is that I want my posts to be accompanied with artwork to illustrate what's going on, but I wasn't kidding when I said I was going to have this s**t done by New Years.

Basically what I'm saying is: Screw it. I'm posting.

Captain Fantastic looked to the skies heroically, thrusting his chest into the air as if to challenge the very clouds themselves. He held his chin high and smacked his lips together. Every word hung for a moment before leaving his mouth. He boomed in a powerful tone, "We must stand tall, for if we fail the world fails. It is our duty as heroes to confront these challenges honorably, giving everything - even our lives for the cause."

He turned to Ultra Lad with a confident smile. The boy was young and naive, but he showed great promise. Captain Fantastic knew one day he would be ready to take his mantle. He longed for the day when his pupil would come into his own as the hero the Captain knew he could be. Until then, it was Captain Fantastic's responsibility to foster in the boy the strength to continue onward.

"Ultra Lad, are you ready? I must warn you. This may be our most dangerous mission yet." Captain Fantastic began to pace, his boot steps echoing across the rooftops. He towered over the boy by nearly three feet - yet he saw him as an equal. Placing his hand on the boy's shoulder, Captain Fantastic asked, "Will you stand and fight at my side, Ultra Lad? Will you lay everyone on the line for honor and justice?"

"Yes," Ultra Lad replied.
