The CW's Nikita

Sweet Christ, she is hot! :hrt::up:

Hot damn!

I'd forgotten how hot she is over this long break.

uh, who is this new woman besides maggie, and why should I care?

David Keith is bringing a whole new set of daddy issues to The CW’s Nikita this fall.

TVLine has learned exclusively that the Officer and a Gentleman actor (who most recently appeared as James Wolk’s pa on Fox’s short-lived Lone Star) will guest star in what could amount to multiple episodes of Nikita‘s second season, as the titular character’s birth father.

“Episode 6 guest stars David as a man named Richard Nelson, who is Nikita’s father,” showrunner Craig Silverstein tells us. “She actually finds a file under her name in the black box that has some information about her real parents, stuff that she never knew. So, she goes out to seek this person.”

The exec producer adds that for now Keith will only be seen in the “present day, because there are no flashbacks of him for Nikita; she never knew her parents. She was really young when she was given over to the foster system.”

At Comic-Con in July, Silverstein’s promised fans that Season 2 of Nikita would examine the core characters’ search for their respective “homes” — a story arc the exec says will encompass Nikita’s Division past as well. ”We’ll definitely reveal more more training and more missions that she went on,” he elaborates. “Among the writers, there is a desire to see her pre-Division, post-runaway self, leading up to her going to prison, but we’re still trying to find the right place for it within the season.”

Now, about the aforementioned “new Birkhoff”… Don’t worry, Aaron Stanford is still around (and kicking more ass than ever!), but Silverstein tells us that there will be a new computer geek within the Division walls this year. “They’ve replaced Birkhoff with a beautiful new hacker-type — played by newcomer Lyndie Greenwood — but she doesn’t look like one. She’s a Nigerian-born, raised in the UK-woman named Sonya, who you’ll see on the sidelines, though she might grow [as a character] a little bit.”

it's the quick and easy method of creating drama.... hell, LOST seemed to take all it's show life dealing with Daddy issues...

I actually had an entire theory on Lost where the main mystery had something to do with father issues. It seemed like every single character had some kind of "daddy issue" on it. All of them were bad fathers in some way which is really telling of the writers and how they wanted to punish these characters' fathers for whatever their failure was.

So now we have yet another "daddy issue" subplot going on. It's either the laziest go-to when you need a storyline for some character or the writer(s) behind it have some real issues they haven't worked out yet. Either way it's tired.

Why Daddy issues & why not Lesbian Lover issues ? The two would make out after every fight :woot:

because it's the CW and not.... Skinimax.... or whatever it's called

Cinemax although Showtime, Stars and a lot of other premium cable networks are probably worse these days.

love this show, I hope all the players return(especially the cleaners)

shane west looks really stupid with that hair btw

TheCW needs to stop relying on their stars so much to promote the show and actually do some promotion themselves.

seems like there's a story in the event images there... he goes from Happy, to confused to angry... What happened off camera? LOL

Man, I've missed this show. I'm glad Percy is still around.

Xander Berkeley and Melinda Clarke were spectacular tonight. Their scene together was just perfect.

Great premiere overall. Happy the show is back.

Yep. Percy definitely had the upper-hand. It was great.

Birkhoff was excellent as well. He completely stole the show, in my opinion.

Note to Charlies Angels, this is how you do a female led action series!

Excellent premiere ep, I like the angle they have taken with Percy and Amanda, plus the interesting freelance role Alex now has.

I loved how they brought Berkov into it, him, Nikita and Michael working together is going to be fun. :D Anyone else get a surprise when those drones showed up and took out divisions squad? :wow: I thought the effects were pretty decent for a show on Nikita's budget.

If Nikita and Alex are to have a Buffy vs Faith or Sydney vs Francie level fight at the end of the season, Fonseca needs to step up her stunt fighting, she's way behind Maggie.

Apparently the ratings for this and Supernatural were pretty bad. Which is a shame.
