The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

A little off topic but I was just thinking, back in 2006 when Superman Returns was comong out, we were all talking about how it had been 19 years since we last had Superman on the big screen. Well now we have a new Superman coming this year, marking 19 years since Superman Returns came out. God that makes me feel old. Can't believe it's been 19 years since that film.

Are the Superman tickets selling like hot cakes yet?
Let’s put it this way, where I live (Maryland) you are not getting good seats in IMax for opening weekend if you had not bought your tickets by last Friday. I was hoping to watch the early screening then buy 4 tickets for the family for the weekend in IMAX. That plan fizzled. I guess I can spread us all out to the individual seats that are left but who wants that.

Yeah, that is rather disturbing 🙃

I remember being SI excited for Superman Returns back then. I had the video game, I wore my favorite Superman shirt (a black shirt with a silver S with diamonds inside it) to go see the movie and I remember them running so many trailers during Smallville.

Did I hear correctly that during the screen test, David broke the Henry suit because he was too big

David was too big for Cavills suit.
You love telling jokes I see.

Cavill is twice the size of sweat or whatever his name is and you know it.

Like comparing arnold Schwarzenegger to the guy who played T 1000

Stop spewing garbage lies

I remember seeing Superman Returns and feeling like I spent 19 years in the theater.

Nah it wasn’t the muscles

David ripped out of Cavill’s suit because he’s much bigger in other areas

Aren't you the one that posts bs rumors from clickbaiters? Oh the irony...

BTW you are taking it way too seriously.

Tom Brittney and David both tore it because they were too tall for it.

It's so weird to me that they do that. With Clooney's, Kilmer's, Cavill's and Reeve's suits. They have items that could go for millions of dollars at auctions and they're using them for job interviews, lol.

They've got multiple "copies. " Some of them they've restored for exhibition, others were auctioned off, others are likely still in the archives, and others are used for the screen tests.

For one moment I was laughing at your grade A sarcasm. Was about to embark on a Cannes style standing ovation. Then I went... "oh."

Yeah, and I figure it's no different from having one of the copies tearing up during shooting, which happens plenty. I just would've imagined it's more cost effective to keep those untouched as valuable memorabilia, and when screen tests are needed, have a cheaper replica made.
