The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

The expectation for MoS was that it was going to hit a billion. It obviously didn’t do that.

It’s relative to expectations.

Nah it was really one ā€˜ā€™suit’’ who claimed that and I’ve seen folks online run with that ever since. Fans on here and elsewhere were not talkin a bill. Folks forget that it also had an uphill battle from the bad rep SR left in the GA.

If this gets better reviews and a better audience score than MOS and underwhelms at the Bo , I don’t know about you, but the marketing dept needs to go. Lawd.

Yeahhhhhh, Cavill got so swole he looked like he had T-Rex arms. Corenswet clearly put the work in and has a great build.
Actually, Cavill looked like he had T-Rex arms because he actually had T-Rex arms. The guy has short limbs and a long torso. Cavill's elbows joints fall barely below his pecs whereas Corenswet's are almost level with his natural waist:

In bodybuilding circles, Corenswet's frame is considered far more advantageous with its naturally wide shoulders, short torso, and long limbs. The great champions like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronnie Coleman had similar proportions.

After Man of Steel, Cavill put on too much muscle for his frame and blew out his proportions.

The problem with the box office for both MOS and BVS was that they both started out strong, and then bad WOM got to them. Especially for BVS.

That was the biggest problem: audiences didn't respond AS WELL as expected to MOS (they hoped they had their new TDK trilogy, but with Superman), and didn't like BVS.

My hype levels are reaching critical mass. Less than 20 days. Deep breaths.

I'll tag this even though I highly doubt it's a spoiler but this shot reminds me of some of the early screenshots of the Suicide Squad game's evil Superman given the markings around his eyes & the destroyed backround.

You speak for this so called majority despite box office success? Try again...
What box office success? BvS after one the largest single days ever had a legendary drop that very same weekend. MoS had no legs to speak of and did as well as the worst Thor movie. Do you think they tried to fix JL because MoS and BvS were box office successes?

Cavill is clearly in better shape as the abs on his suit proves. :o

Not that there is anything wrong with having Superman being in wicked good shape, I always felt it was kind of odd to play the six pack, look at all my muscles, for a guy who can't really work out in that manner. Superman could be 5'2, 110 pounds and the strongest being on the planet. I always liked the vibe of Clark being big, but not super muscular. Neither of these men qualify for that of course, though I do think David looks much better of the two. More natural.

If MoS had an uphill battle, this flick is fighting WW3. And as MoS's lack of legs proved, it didn't go over well with audiences.

If this movie does go over well and doesn't do great at the box office, that is at least something to build off. Like Begins. A movie that had legs at the box office and grew a substantial rep on home release.

Yeah, I have never minded the big, but kinda soft farm boy look for Clark we have occasionally seen in stuff like For All Seasons and All-Star.

You can also theoretically head canon Clark being super lean because of his super heated metabolism and not being able to eat enough on Earth to accumulate bodyfat. Or that the Yellow Sun energy basically acts as anabolic steroids for Kryptonian physiology. Basically, you can play with the pseudoscience to justify whatever look you want.

Don't know if it has been posted, but Superman has already sold ten million dollars in ticket sales for the opening weekend, three weeks out. So the opening weekend will be at least ten million

Side by side. To my eyes David looks as big or maybe even bigger than Henry.
To say otherwise is just trolling at this point.
