Dear God, the movie needs to come out as soon as possible. You're hyper-focusing.

If anyone had doubts about how strong this Superman is, the kaiju fight should remove them.
That thing is probably putting down hundreds, if not thousands, of tons of pressure on Superman.

Social Media review from a user on Twitter called Will-iam Smith. Not familiar with him so take it with a grain of salt

"#Superman    feels generational—like Raimi’s Spider-Man or Burton’s Batman. It’s a bold, heartfelt beginning to a new DC era, with Superman finally shining as the best of them all.

David is magnetic as both Clark and Superman—charming, hopeful, and heroic. Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane is sharp, funny, and my favorite take yet.

Nicholas Hoult’s Lex has shades of Kevin Spacey, but way darker—he’s menacing as hell. The cast all brought it.

The action & VFX? Solid. Could’ve used more, but what’s here works. It’s better than most Marvel flicks lately and lightyears ahead of anything Sony or the old DCEU put out.

This is a home run for @JamesGunn. Thank you. ⚾🎬🍿

I'm generally pretty critical of a lot of modern posters for this kind of film, and while I hadn't yet seen anything fundamentally bad or particularly good for this film, this one pleases the old fart in me.
I'll just say that, for me at least, it still has one foot in “photoshopped floating head” territory, and would probably work better with an even more “painterly” rendering to really tap into classic imagery...

So, of course, I couldn't resist experimenting a little (maybe not super obivous on a tiny screen though)...

HD jpeg below, if anyone is interested...

you made the poster look even better.

i miss the old school poster art when it used to be painted.

you've captured that feeling here.

the Drew Struzan posters come to mind - he is probably the goat poster artist.
but he's no longer able to paint now because he's battling alzheimers. :worry:

Sounds legit. Is this from the 30 minute preview. I will say I don’t see any connection between Nicholas’s Luther and Spacey’s Luther. I think Nicholas is more comic accurate. Spacey was a con man. Didn’t see the movie but going by the trailers and what Gunn said.

Drew Struzan is precisely and obviously the reference I had in mind. ;)

I don't know if I really made the poster better - and what I did could use more work for sure- but I'm happy someone enjoys it!
Thank you! :super:

Could've used more action and VFX??

I mean why does some random users opinion based on possibly seeing about 1/4 of the movie matter?

Happersen! The guy who, when Lex was persuaded by Superman to not blow up Metropolis with bombs he'd planted all over the city, yelled "I won't let you quit, Mr Luthor!!!!" and blew them all up anyway.

I like how this movie has decided to coddle and reward 90s' comics nerds.

what’s crazy is that this cast already looks like they’re having more fun/growing closer in the last month or two than the previous one did in the seven or eight year run they had together

It’s nice to see the camaraderie and that they actually seem like friends, I think that really boats well for what we’re gonna see on the big screen

It's the Gunn effect. It was the same with the GOTG cast.

this is a floating heads poster that has somehow turned out to be good.
probably because of the balanced elements + composition.
and it doesn't look overtly photoshopped haha.
The symmetry and the old school rectangle in the back is what makes it work for me.

ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE (2021)

i enjoyed the snyder films as these weird and ambitious DC elseworlds type of films.
but BvS and both versions of JL are bad "superman" films.

with how the story went after MoS, its obvious WB and snyder did not know what to do with superman.
they treated him more as a macguffin than an actual flesh and blood character.
just felt like snyder wasn't really interested in superman after all, so he crowbarred batman into his movies, cuz he really wanted to do his version of batman instead all along.

hopefully with gunn's film, we will never have to go back to this creative wasteland for superman.
fingers crossed.
