The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

Opening crawl slightly worries me, as long as it doesn't look too much like Star Wars, then good. Otherwise, people will laugh at it.

Technically, the last shot is from Batman v Superman.

Baldy needs to up his troll game...someone get him a good cigar and a drink!

I just don’t want to hear excuses. For years and years now, longer than the real release of GTA 6, all I heard was that a bright-happy go Boy Scout Superman will break the bank.

I highly recommend a Padron 1926.

boy scout superman will work if there's substance to it.

in a similar way that spider-man and captain american is liked by audiences now.

just that theres been a creative drought for cinematic superman for the last decade.

Not making a Superman movie in the 90s was a mistake. You practically gave the ball away to Batman and others etc. Eh, still salty that Burton Superman movie ain’t on my shelf.

What exactly do they need an opening crawl to explain?
New universe, I would think. Not only just setting it apart from the last decade of DC movies, but given that they’re not treating it as though Superman has just introduced himself to a world that’s almost exactly our own, but rather uniquely it’s own universe, I do think you need to give the audience the heads-up for that.

i enjoyed the snyder films as these weird and ambitious DC elseworlds type of films.
but BvS and both versions of JL are bad "superman" films.

with how the story went after MoS, its obvious WB and snyder did not know what to do with superman.
they treated him more as a macguffin than an actual flesh and blood character.
just felt like snyder wasn't really interested in superman after all, so he crowbarred batman into his movies, cuz he really wanted to do his version of batman instead all along.

hopefully with gunn's film, we will never have to go back to this creative wasteland for superman.
fingers crossed.
I wouldnt look at them as Superman films tbh. Batman manages to get more screentime in 2 films than he gets in ALL of his solo movies which is insane.
