Fantastic 4 was just way too short. To many characters for a an hour and 45 minutes. Spider-Man will probably set up Doomsday now.Off topic here but I saw Fastastic Four. Wished I liked it more. The setting was cool and the characters were great. The plot and villains were undercooked. The post credits scene was really lame.
He said it's gonna surprise people, so I'm expecting something unconventional in that Gunn-esque sort of way. It could be a holiday special for all we know!Since no one likes my Superman/Peacemaker movie idea (Zazloff would probably shut it down anyway) I will again connect the dots with other DCU projects. This movie idea could be the DCU game changer that WB is looking for and DC still has Batman/Wonder Woman on the sidelines waiting for the call. What about Superman, Supergirl, John Stewart, Guy Gardener, Krypto, and Hawkgirl in a cosmic movie. This maybe stretching it a little but the villain would be Brainiac in control of the Manhunters. It checks off the 4 quadrant movie and the action would be over the top.
I am hesitant because Gunn probably wants to see the reception of Supergirl and Lanterns first but this movie would be an excellent summer lead up to Batman 2 for 2027. Superman and Batman in 2027. Oh yeah!!!!!!
The length is a problem, but more than that it’s just a generic story. Im shocked how blatantly it rips off Interstellar at certain points. Also, Galactus should’ve been a Thanos level threat.Fantastic 4 was just way too short. To many characters for a an hour and 45 minutes. Spider-Man will probably set up Doomsday now.
Budget reasons are the reason Galactus is a one and done probably. He is just too expensive but Marvel wanted to right the wrong of him being a cloud in the other movie. The length is a problem, but more than that it’s just a generic story. Sure I get that. Making him not a cloud is the bare minimum and that’s all I felt watching this movie. Doing the bare minimum.Budget reasons are the reason Galactus is a one and done probably. He is just too expensive but Marvel wanted to right the wrong of him being a cloud in the other movie.
Making someone giant is too expensive for Marvel?Budget reasons are the reason Galactus is a one and done probably. He is just too expensive but Marvel wanted to right the wrong of him being a cloud in the other movie.
Shh….. I keep hearing this was the best Marvel movie since End game. I don’t want you get black listed.Sure I get that. Making him not a cloud is the bare minimum and that’s all I felt watching this movie. Doing the bare minimum.
Guardians 3 was so much better. I think the MCU fanbase is trying to forget guardians happened. Gunn is dead to them once he joined DC.This is the first MCU project I have seen since Gurdians 3, so I can’t comment on Thunderbolts. I have no interest in Doomsday or Secret Wars. I am interested in the next Spider-Man, but I’m afraid the plot will entirely revolve around a setup for Doomsday
It’s more than that it would be like having Godzilla and King Kong in a DC movie. The budget couldn’t handle that. I was impressed with scope of Galactus especially in space. For a second I felt I was in a comic. He popped in IMAX.Making someone giant is too expensive for Marvel?
When they arent even really interacting in the same scene (just via cutaways) that isnt the most expensive thing in the world. G and KK are pure CGI. Daddy G is just in front of a green screen. It’s more than that it would be like having Godzilla and King Kong in a DC movie. The budget couldn’t handle that. Everything since Endgame has been named “best since Endgame” by someone. Guardians 3 deserves that title. Spiderman No Way Home is the only other post endgame movie Ive liked.Shh….. I keep hearing this was the best Marvel movie since End game. I don’t want you get black listed.![]()
Yeah, the intro and setup for the movie did feel like it missed a proper sequence to actually showcase the F4 in action and as a team.I liked F4 but I do agree it could have used another 30 minutes. I feel like the intro should have a had a cool action sequence that showcased the group’s heroics. I liked the documentary approach but it needed a little more there. And I loved Mole Man and Subterrania hut that just seemed kinda random and needed a bit more explanation. I get that both Superman and F4 are comic book movies that just ask the audience to lean into the goofiness but that just felt so out of left field that I think it needed a little exposition, since it didn’t factor much into the main story until the last third of the movie.
This probably needs to be in the Peacemaker thread but would anyone be surprised if Peacemaker opens the door to the Reeves Batman universe and we get a surprise cameo. (Penguin/Cat Woman) in the pocket universe.

It would've also provided more weight to the emotional scenes, because we'd get to know the characters somewhat better.
Which was actually the plan it seems, with John Malkovich's cut (action) scene.
It was a bit choppy and timid in its approach.
Anyway, this probably sounds more negative than how I actually feel about the movie. It's a good movie, and a solid intro for the team.
P.S.: I've been reading Mark Waid's F4 run - what a BANGER!!
I know it won’t happen but Pattinson has the acting ability to play the DCU Batman much differently than the Reeves Batman. I mean Marvel has Robert Jr. playing Dr. Doom so you never know. Check out Mickey 17. Pattinson was outstanding in it.Yoooo, I know a lot of people on this forum wouldn't like this it at all... but that never even crossed my mind. I think I may be one of the very few who is open to either Pattinson or a new actor for Batman. I'm also seeing this as a possible way Pattinson ends up in the DCU. Especially if people go insane over it...
What if it was Affleck as Batman in a Peacemaker cameo? Hahaha.
I think Gunn said there is going to be some big cameos in Peacemaker (or at least one) and we already know the Justice Gang is in the first episode. I just assumed maybe Hal Jordan/John Stewart and maybe Superman/Supergirl could show up.
It's wild to me how F4 made me appreciate Superman so much more, especially the world building. I saw a lot of reviews praising F4 for it and I just didn't get it. There's an actual widespread discourse and response to Superman's actions instead of just what seems to be a monolith of folks accepting whatever plan Reed comes up with or speech from Sue to calm the masses.
