Just to elaborate; sorry to be so defensive and whatnot. Obviously some of us are really high on this movie but of course plenty of people aren’t going to be. For me personally, I’m going through some really hard **** right now and seeing my favorite superhero finally get a good movie felt like quite a lifeline for me in a moment I needed it. It’s silly I know; it’s just a movie. But sometimes it’s those little things that help you get through stuff. Anyway though; there’s also no reason to lash out at people who don’t feel the same way so I promise to do better, seriously.

Thanks, dude. I appreciate it. Yeah; so many of us are going through a lot right now and it can help to latch onto the things that make us feel better when they come around. Thanks for being forgiving; I know I can come off harsher than I mean to at times too. Hopefully things can get at least a little better for all of us soon.

Had a strange impulse to check the Hype this morning. My Canadian blood must have sensed the word “sorry”.

I agree though, I find myself growing somewhat more defensive against needlessly harsh comments. I think it’s just PTSD from too many years on Twitter.

The most fun I have here is when we’re all celebrating some wins and the vibes are good. Hopefully more of that is coming our way!

Why are you guys upset because a group of trolls on social media are trying to rain on the Superman/DCU parade because their dream of Henry Cavill returning as Superman is dead. A Superman saga is coming led by David and Milly. It appears we will be getting a Superman/Supergirl movie for at least 3 of the next four years in the summer. Can someone explain to me that if your are a fan of the DCU Superman how are you upset. No Batman coming into the movies and stealing the spotlight. It is Superman all day every day. Rejoice.

Yeah even as I get older I still sometimes find myself falling into some of those old, immature, defensive tendencies over things that really don’t matter in the long run because I’ve lived and breathed this nerdy stuff for so long and once it a while it’s like there’s this voice in my head screaming, “WHY CAN’T EVERYONE JUST LIKE WHAT I LIKE?!!” lol. It’s so silly but I guess when something really hits you in the right way there’s a part of you that wishes everyone could have that same experience, truly. But obviously that’s an unrealistic expectation. But yeah; the past month here has had a lot of good vibes with all the positive reactions to Superman (even though there’s nothing wrong with negative ones too) so overall, it does feel like we’ve been celebrating a lot and that’s great feeling. Because I think I’m finally getting my Brainiac movie and I’ve seriously been waiting on that for like 30 years! So it’s hard to feel anything but positive right now!

I think sometimes even in good moments we can react badly (I know I did last night) but as I said above, the vibes are mostly positive and with the Superman Saga moniker (I can’t stop saying it), Gunn’s subtle Brainiac tease, Supergirl already on the way next summer and the treatment for what will likely be Superman/Supergirl movie already in the can, things are all pretty good I think. The Snyder/Cavill people will always be out there and that’s fine I guess but it’s probably best to just let them do their thing and focus on the Saga.

That is what these trolls want, a reaction. They come on social media hating and being negative. To me it’s comical. The goal post change is what really gets me rolling on the floor with laughter. In one of the busiest summers since Covid, Superman was the top grossing movie domestically when other studios purposely tried to take WB down. Superman also did the impossible. Out grossing 3 Marvel movies. You could argue that if anything Superman is probably making Marvel reshape their strategy. The Summer of Superman is an overwhelming success. Rejoice!!!! Peacemaker is next!

Regardless of what one may think of the final products, there's no denying Gunn is a workhorse.
And since I really enjoyed his Superman –and was surprised how he managed to tone down the usual raunchy humor– I'm starting to get really curious (dare I say hyped?) to see where he's going with this.

Honestly, I wonder where he gets all that energy from. Not only did he write and direct for both Superman and Peacemaker, but he's also in charge of the entire DCU as well.

I never thought that I'd see the day where we'd actually get a Superman saga (of any kind). I still remember how bleak things were for the character's cinematic future back in 2018.

I knew we'd get one if they did what they did with Batman: hire a talented filmmaker to reboot the character. That's what they did. And we get a full DCU on top of that!

I love this era of DC. In comics, too. There are obviously noteworthy exception, but the New 52 era right around when the DCEU was launching was... not my favorite era at all.
