The DNA was not contracted from the glass or the card, it could have been done from a multitude of different ways that they didn't show on screen.

They're clapping was out of respect for Harvey. One thing I love about that scene is the look on Wuertz face. I don't think he claps either. lol

I think they some of them might have believed Dent was Batman. I'm not really sure what Gordon's plan was if Dent had actually been Batman. I suppose he didn't exactly expect the cops to be taken down so easily by Joker, anyway.
