LOL Yea Donky is a bit picky!! I don't know why anyone would question that scene, IMO it's one of the sickest scenes i've seen in any film, ever. It needs no explanation, just like Joker needs no explanation.

By the way I meant sick in the good way! :D

You guys and girls are all wasting your time arguing with donk70.

He's hated Nolan's bat films since the beginning.

Of all the time I've been coming here I've noticed he's the type of fan that won't be happy untill someone makes a film that is exactly and I mean exactly like the comics.

It's better to just not get into it with him when it comes to Nolan's Batman films.
Not hardly. I really liked Batman Begins

And I'll say this again: My question was legitimate. There was no motive behind the question- other than to figure out the scene.

Excuse me for having a difference of opinion

Look i think the scene is awesome, you don't, no biggy. But the purpose of it is to show Joker escaping in a blaze' way, he just don't give a crap. Joker in the comics always has elaborate ways to rob banks, kill people or escape jail. And you can't get any more elaborate than escaping jail in COP CAR with your head hanging out of the window like a dog. It's just showing that Joker is a master planner, that he WANTED to be caught so he could get to Lau. I also think it shows how crazy he is. He's just blown up a major police HQ probly killing a lot of cops in the process and he is just relaxing letting the wind hit his face as he escapes. It's like he's in a little world of his own, oblivious to the chaos he's caused. I think the silence represents that he is truly in his own little world, he doesn't care about anything around him.

What you said, and a great display of talent from Nolan and Pfeister. Apart from the great cinematography, i loved how Nolan handled the sound. Its like we are deaf at that part. Deaf from the evil that floods the scene. I dont know how to explain it. Its great!

Replying to another thread, there arose questions:

THe Joker launched a bazooka at Dent because his initial plan was to kill the Bat Man. Then suddenly the batman car emerged. Then Dent was not Batman. Then when Batman did not drive over the Joker with his batpod, he decided Batman was fun.

But how would the Joker know the Tumbler was Batman's car?

And about killing, when Batman was lying on the ground in front of the semi, don't everything point to that the Joker was going to stab him or something?
Why did he ask Gordon for 'one more minnit'?

(my answer is, he wanted to kiss him)

He probs knew the Tumbler was Batman's car from the news footage that covered the chase in BB. I think it's safe to say Joker is a native of Gotham.

I don't think he was going to kill Batman, he was probs going to just give him a nice big smile!!

Ok, so he watches television sometimes.

Yup, because Batman is one of the few who has not stopped chasing or been frightened by him, and he want Batman to have a smile, like him.

Next question:
Did any of you watch the nolan director's cut screening earlier last spring? Because, if so, maybe you could point out differences to the theatrical edition, if there were any!

What you're asking..? If there are differences between the theatrical cut and the dvd-screener that's on the internet..? If so, yes--there are. Plenty. Ask JaD (not really :oldrazz: he thinks I'm crazy)

Couple random ?'s for the night

Anyone remember how Maggie G. dodged or answered questions in interviews when she was asked if she would be in a sequel after TDK. Can't remember how she answered those questions :hehe:

And also, I guess this picture was a complete joke to begin with then right? :hehe:

Wasn't this on the front page of SHH too? :lmao:

ya it was, that still would be a wicked joker car.

but SLAUGHTER is the best medicine truck was still definitly wicked.

I have questions that need some answers please:

In the scene where Bruce drives the motorcycle to Melvin White (whom at the time he thinks is the Joker, or someone close to him), what was Bruce trying to accomplish anyway? Was he planning on apprehending the Joker at that location? I mean, he arrived at the location without his mask, armored suit, etc. Was he really desperate to find the Joker, or did he not care anymore about Batman's secret identity? Did Bruce actually think this plan out before he left the bunker? I mean, a lot was at risk for him. I'm sure he had no idea what was at the location. It could have been a bomb, trap, or etc.

:brucebat:

Bruce was thinking that Joker and co were going to snipe the Mayor. He asked about the apartment close to the parade because it would be a perfect place to shoot the mayor.

He did not dress up as Batman cause in day it would draw attention in a crowded area, so he dressed as a civilian. Now as for risking his idenity. He probably was hoping to get the drop on Joker who was watching the parade to take him out without him looking.

As for the bomb or trap theory, he wasn't expecting The Joker to lead him to that specific apartment hence the timer. So he was caught off guard when he entered the room because it was like Joker was giving Batman front row seats of the death of the mayor.

He probably was hoping to get the drop on Joker who was watching the parade to take him out without him looking.

So in Bruce's mind, the Joker was alone in that room with no guards? So, the joker was aiming his gun out the window, Bruce was suppose to take out the henchmen without them seeing his face?!

Bruce probably was noticing how there is nobody around that area or any noise coming from that area. Hints that probably nobody was in there so he would just investigate the room. If Joker was there with goons he probably would have people standing outside the door in which he could just keep his motorcycle helmet on. He also could have peeped inside the room to assess the situation.

In Bruce's mind Joker was going to kill the Mayor from that room, he didn't know how but he or somebody associated with Joker would be there. If a henchman was there he could use him for questioning. Again he had his motorcycle helmet if he needed to hide his identity.

The spring 2008 there was an exclusive screening of the Dark Knight, of Nolan's first cut, the director's cut. I wondered if there were participants from here...

Why do you think there would be? No one even from the press got a peek - it was probably for WB suits only. We did hear that they went crazy over the first cut, after all.

The very first review I saw online was in late June, on AICN. By that time, they had long finished editing and sound mixing, and were making the prints.

I got a question for the Dark Knight himself: how can you be so awesome, d00d!?!?!?! [/fanboy]

I think it would pretty obvious to anyone that the "black tank" is Batman's car...Joker no stupid, no.

Important question:

Did Batman really need to attack the SWAT Team? I mean, why didn't he just remove the clown masks off the hostages? I'm sure the sight of a frightened person with tape over their mouth would have convinced the SWAT and police that the Joker switched the hostages with the bad guys.

Otherwise, the scene was just another attempt for the film to have an action suspense plot moment. :whatever:
