I wonder what Batman was doing the entire time behind Joker and Gordon were talking in the interoggation room with the lights off?

He was probably bored, maybe sat on the floor, took a piss, etc.

:funny:

He entered from another door behind Joker.....

I've been wondering about these 2 things since opening day:

1) When Batman gets the wall sample with the gunshot from the apartment and then simulates gunshots into different bricks, what exactly is he doing? I know he is trying to gather fingerprints, but how is doing what did going to do that? Also, they clearly show him putting a bullet into the gun with no gloves, so why wouldn't his prints show up?

2) What was the whole purpose of the DNA on the Joker cards? Was it just for Joker to show that he was getting close to everyone important and to forewarn everyone that these people were going to die? And, related to that, how did Bruce know about Harvey at the fundraiser at the time when the other two were killed? I assume it's because--as we know--Bruce has police scanning equipment and he heard it over the wire, but for non-batfans who were watching, they were probably wondering how he knew.

Any help clearing these things up would be great. Thanks!

1) It was about bullet fragmentation. If he could simulate just how the bullet breaks up in those bricks for instance, he could reconstruct the bullet and then eventually see if there was a print... or that's what I got from it.

yeah that's what i figured, too, but it just doesn't seem logical, especially with him putting in a round with HIS print on it. that would just make it more difficult.

No, I mean he was just studying the pattern of how it broke... to apply it to the other bullet he found. Not actually using the one that he had shot.

I wonder what was Harvey reaching his pocket for after they see that the ballet thing was cancelled

I'm still wondering what Rachel was about to tell Harvey before she got blown up.

The Joker loves to announce his crimes ahead of time. Warning his victims and then evading their precautions to kill them is part of the fun.

Batman probably knew because he was listening on on the police scanner, or maybe his building's security called him to warn him that a clown was breaking in. A scene was filmed in which the party guests received phone calls warning them that someone was killing off Gotham's important law officials, but that scene was cut out of the final film.

When Batman said he was going after Rachel, and Gordon said he was going to save Harvey, but the end result was switched, is that because the Joker told them the opposite locations of each hostage? The Joker assumed Batman would save Rachel because he knew he had an emotional tie to her, so he gave him Harvey's location instead of hers to hurt both Batman and Harvey with her death?

Yes.

Yes. It was a great plan because no matter who Batman chose to save, he'd end up rescuing the opposite person.

I don't think he knew Batman was coming at all. He was probably just suspecting some ordinary cop.
It was pretty obvious that he didnt know batman was standing behind him all along. The "DOOD WTF" look on his face says it all. Ras taught him well.

Wayne intentional brought the Russian ballet dancers to keep Harvey and Rachel from going on a date. Right?

No, no, no. He bought the ballet so he could have private performances in the bat-bunker whenever he fancied some nimble, flexible Russian woman running and jumping around for him.
