Indeed she did Aeghast.

I like to think she was about to break into song.

*Somewhere over the rainbow............*

Her very last word was "some...." so maybe that could work! :D

Can't remember the thread but yeah, someone did that :hehe: they even started posting lyrics..

About Rachel's last line.
In the script it says she said "Somewhere-"
I interpreted this as meaning somewhere else (such as heaven) they will be able to be together. As she seemed calm and at peace with her fate.

I have a question for how you all interpret the scene when Harvey and Rachel are about to get blown up. Harvey tells Rachel that they are coming for her - therefore he is implying that he will be the one who is killed. So thus, Harvey realizes one of them must die and that there is only one way he can save Rachel. I interpreted his actions as he was intentionally trying to trigger his detonator by knocking over the gas canister so that he would die and Rachel would survive. And thus this is why he looks so defeated and distressed as he lies helpless in the spilling gasoline... he realizes he has failed to save Rachel.

Is this how anyone else interpreted it? Many other people I talk to just say that he fell down because he was trying to break free of his knots.

^ I don't think Harvey thought that by killing himself he would save Rachel. And if he did, he was wrong, since both places were rigged with explosives and both places blew up.

I think he thought that Rachel, being the woman, would be saved first, and he was just trying to set himself free so he could help her in some way, or just not get killed. And you're right, when he's at the floor, he's slowly accepting his fate, but's he's somewhat calmed because he believes that Batman and Gordon can and will save Rachel. When he realizes that's not the case, well, we all saw his reaction.

So one explosion cancels the other..? Like the ferries situation?

I think he was trying to break his knots so he he will die in order to save Rachel

Stop recycling jokes :hehe:

haha yeah i remember that...

but i (as posted right before the Wizard of Oz jokes started) always thought it was something like

"its ok, someone is coming or someone will save us" ect

Wow Batman found Harvey's lucky coin in all that rubble just right infront of him where he was mourning Rachel's death, (at the location where she died).

Why didn't Batman and Gordon tell Harvey that the Joker swapped their locations, so as to why Batman saved him first instead of Rachel. Then Harvey wouldn't be so pissed at the two of them.

After Batman saved Rachel when they fell off the building, what happened back up at Bruce's penthouse, you know where the Joker had everyone held hostage? The Joker could easily find Harvey, he's in the closet with the metal rod holding the door shut.

Why is there a cop in interogation room with the Joker?

When Batman discovers he saved Harvey instead of Rachel, there's nothing given to the audience he was surprised by that.

Errr.....what? Were you watching the same movie? He clearly paused for a split second as he busts open the door and realizes it's Harvey there. He isn't going to hang around going "Oh no!! It's Harvey, not Rachel!" The guy has about 10 seconds to get out of there. He realizes Rachel is going to die, but he can't just leave Harvey to die as well can he.

He sure did.

It didn't matter, Harvey believed he could've stopped all of this from happening if they just listened to him about all the corruption in Gordon's unit etc. It would be like a lame excuse to try and clear up why this person died and not that one.

Joker grabbed some more champagne and bounced.

Suicide watch.

or to move the story forward.

Yeah he has a look of disappointment when he first enters the warehouse, and he can't stand there for too long, the place is about 15 seconds from disco inferno. Gotta hightail it out and think later.

In that quick moment he looks like he knows he's gonna lose Rachel.

Because he's the goddamn Batman!

Why didn't Batman and Gordon tell Harvey that the Joker swapped their locations, so as to why Batman saved him first instead of Rachel. Then Harvey wouldn't be so pissed at the two of them.

I don't think it would've have made much of a difference at that point. Harvey knew Wuertz was involved. And Harvey tried to tell Gordon about the dirty cops in his unit.

What were they gonna say? "Hey Harvey you know...the darndest thing happened. That Joker is such a kidder, switched the addresses on us! But hey, at least you've got you're health and half your face intact."

After Batman saved Rachel when they fell off the building, what happened back up at Bruce's penthouse, you know where the Joker had everyone held hostage? The Joker could easily find Harvey, he's in the closet with the metal rod holding the door shut.

The Joker used Rachel to escape. You can see him running away as he drops Rachel. Also, remember the Joker thought Batman was Harvey. "The way you threw yourself after her". Another clue is the "Hmmm" expression after he saw the Tumbler take out the garbage truck.

Why is there a cop in interogation room with the Joker?

Stephens wanted to give the Joker a lesson in manners. He did kill 6 of his friends after all.

When Batman discovers he saved Harvey instead of Rachel, there's nothing given to the audience he was surprised by that.

Yes there was, it's a quick shot but it's right when Batman kicks open the door and realizes it's Harvey.

Yeah. Wow.
And?

Why didn't Batman and Gordon tell Harvey that the Joker swapped their locations, so as to why Batman saved him first instead of Rachel. Then Harvey wouldn't be so pissed at the two of them.

They probably did, or they didn't have a chance. It wouldn't have changed a thing.

That's a good question. I think it's left to the audience to presume that with Batman there, the Joker fled the scene. I think I read somewhere that the scene was filmed but left out of the final cut, but maybe it was only a rumor.

Why is there a cop in interogation room with the Joker?

To prevent him from doing anything crazy and unpredictable? It was safer with a cop inside than with no one. Who would have thought the cop would got careless?

When Batman discovers he saved Harvey instead of Rachel, there's nothing given to the audience he was surprised by that.

Suuure.

Good answer.

Good thing DVD have subtitles--I can imagine people still going over the six issue

^ that reminds me. on the dvd subtitles, does the joker say 6 or 10?

If ripping dvds weren't such a......hmm slow task, I'd rip this movie and show that scene to everyone :hehe:
