The Joker thugs in the prologue weren't proper Joker goons though, they were probably just pro bank robbers who J hired. All of his other goons were actually ****ed in the head I would guess. Did you notice when the bounty hunters brought the "dead" Joker into Gambols club? The black guy looked completely out of it.

The bounty hunters didn't look completely out of it, like Thomas Schiff was. They were obviously young, immature punks who thought following Joker would be cool. It's exactly like those teens that Al Qaeda recruit and brainwash to do suicide missions. The surviving gunman in the Mumbai attacks is only 21. I remember hearing that the other gunmen were on the young side as well. They don't have the mental wherewithal to think, "Hey, this is kind of stupid, you know?"

Actually, Bruce Wayne was kind of the same. But at least he had the mental wherewithal to direct his crazy ideas into something good. :funny:

Hmmm maybe you are right. But that black dude with the corn rows, the one at the front as they came in, his eyes look dodgy. Like he is day dreaming or something.

But what you say sounds right, he also nods with excited approval after Joker offs Gambol.

Where do you guys think the Joker has been the whole time?

I mean like where did her go with the bus in the beginning?

When Batman asked Maroni where he was, did Maroni even know?

I find it so strange when he is interacting with goons who aren't in masks, I don't know for me it just seems stranger then when they do have masks on.

I know neither of these questions have any real answers but it just provokes some kind of thought as to thinking how this "ghost" can just do the things he did.

1) You kinda get to leave that to your imagination. Although its possibly the place that the giant stack of cash was at where they burned Lau

2) Same as 1

3) I think Maroni was telling the truth as he seemed to be taking the situation a little more serious once he fell.

Yea I don't think we are really supposed to know where Joker goes when he is off screen. It gives him a sorta supernatural element. He can just show up where he wants, when he wants.

The point is we're not suppose to know where he was in the scenes he didn't appear in. It's fun though. Like where was he when Burce and Rachel talked before the press conference the next morning?

But I don't think we're suppose to know. He tears through the film, that's it. I think whenever he's needed he just appears out of thin air or something. Just a force to serve a purpose at that time or moment. Then that last shot of him there's no closure. It's ambiguous. He may have just disappeared out of thin air because his mission was complete. That's why we shouldn't of seen him in Arkham locked up. That would make him human. But he's not human. He's a force that comes and goes. And you can't contain that. Exactly the reason why he escaped from the MCU. That just proves it. Like a breeze that slips away in your fingers you can only feel and then goes away until it returns.

Nice thoughts Doc

Yea I love his ending scene where he is just left hanging. Does the SWAT team just shoot him? Do they arrest him? Or does he have a few of the team in his pocket as well?

I noticed that the very final shot of him at the end of his creepy laugh he is sorta whimpering and frowning. The part in my avvy.

I've been wondering where the Joker was and what his reaction was when he saw Dent claim to be Batman. I can see him being really tense and excited while watching the press conference on TV.

Thanks, dude. That's why I love that final shot of him. Just that description that Nolan gives for what I said just adds so much to the character.

See, that's what I mean. It's up to us to decide what he's doing.

My opinion is what I just said. But 9/10 times we see him he's around everyone and never alone.

1) You kinda get to leave that to your imagination. Although its possibly the place that the giant stack of cash was at where they burned Lau

Lau was the only one who knew where the money was, and the Joker only found out about it after he broke out of MCU with Lau. Joker said Lau was a squealer and he got him to spill the location of the cash after he busted him out of "Gordon's cage" and escaped in the cop car. So obviously, Joker never went there. There's clearly no concrete answer, which I think makes it that much more mysterious and intriguing. The Joker in the film had the power of a hurricane, ripping right through Gotham, yet the evasiveness of smoke, which no matter how hard you try, can simply not be caught. Adds a lot to character in my opinion. Even his "buzzing" theme, which kicks off the bank robbery, leaves as it quick as it comes, almost like a calm before the storm, representing the upcoming and uncompromising chaos caused by the Joker.

Important Question:

Was the extra's feelings hurt when he was b***h-slapped by Heath Ledger during the party scene? Did he break character and begin crying? Is this the real reason why Christian Bale gives Heath a "double punch" to the stomach after being stabbed with the shoe? A message saying "You don't slap extras without prior notice and not expect similar treatment and so you get a straight shot to the gut by my Bat fists."

Ahh thats right, well that like you said only adds to the mystery an intrigue to where the Joker spends his time. Thanks for reminding me:up:

He took Lau with him because only Lau knew where the mob's money was, and then told Maroni and The Chechen to come collect. But Maroni probably suspected a trap, which is why he didn't show ("where's the Italian?") and told Gordon where the meeting was.

But that wasn't part of their deal, or is it and I just miss something (despite having seen it more than 10x! :woot:)?

Doesn't have to be "part of the deal." Joker takes advantage of changing situations all the time. He claimed he wanted to know who Batman was, and then he "changed his mind." (I don't think he REALLY wanted to know the whole time, he just wanted to see what Batman would do.)

Lau has all of the mobs' money. Lau is in GPD custody and refuses to give the police the money. Once Joker gets a hold of him, he's able to get the location of the money, and thus has tremendous leverage over the mob guys, because he has all of their money too. What good does Batman's death do them if they're still broke?

Also took a closer look at the Prewitt building scene, and man the Joker goons are REALLY inept if they finally remember to load their weapons when the SWAT team is already practically on them. :funny:

No wonder he spits on them they get electrocuted. :hehe:

In regards to the Joker's lair, didn't the costume department say that they imagined him as not having a permanent hideout? He probably just wanders from place to place, sleeping in a different location every night. That might be a good idea for security reasons.

Does the Joker even sleep? I don't think he has normal sleeping habits.

I was thinking, does anyone else reckon Joker is on something? The way he is all jittery and twitchy gives me the impression that he is either on something or used to be and it ****ed him up even more.

Well for all we know he could be schizophrenic and be on w/e pills he can get his hands on, or simply be so sane that really were the crazy ones who think we can live in a decent world.

where did the huge-font-questions guy go anyway..? :hehe:

You're right. I should've said that he plots his schemes in a different location every night. :funny:

Someone earlier in this thread was convinced that he's high on something. I can definitely see it. Some antipsychotic medicine if taken for years on end is supposed to give you weird tics though.

I think that the hiding place is that ship where he burns Lau and the money. Makes sense. He stole a big load of oil drums, as we learn from Gotham News.

Yea but that's where the money is kept, and only Lau knows the location. Unless Joker got Lau to show him where the money was and then they moved it to that location. Seems pretty pointless to move all that cash again though.

I also think Joker intended to kill Chechen and Maroni on that ship. He was already going to burn Lao alive on the money, he told Chechen "your men work for me now", insinuating Chechen is no longer needed and is about to be taken out whether he knows it or not. "Where's the Italian?" meant to me that he was gonna kill Maroni as well. Maybe Maroni knew it and decided to let Gordon know where Joker will be this afternoon, purposely hiding.

Joker played the mob brilliantly. He took their money, took their thugs, took their Lao, then burned everything up. And he turned their biggest obstacle (Dent) and made things worse for them. Now the unstoppable DA has lost morality and is a hunter who prosecutes outside of a courtroom. ;p

Exactly. I think the Joker had plans to off Maroni and Chechen all along. He was just waiting for the right time.
