If the concept art is to be believed, Douglass was hanged from a flag pole outside the mayor's office. How did the Joker's goons get Douglass up there and escape without being noticed?

It would of been easier then Joker an his goons getting outta Bruce's penthouse. Quickly get outta there while people are distracted by a corpse dangling from a noose while dressed at Batman
Ok july isn't here yet, but a cople of people here, myself included, had the great oportunity to see TDK early so let's post the reviews here for everyone to see
My partner works(asst mgr.) at a muvico theater here in tampa, fl and he took me this morning to what he told me was a screening for hellboy just for the employees.. Anyway when the movie started to roll it wasnt hellboy but the dark knight.... Of course me beign the sentimental and stupid guy i started to cry cause, first it wasnt an imax experience LOL(althought i already have tickets to see it on the 18th 3 times).. and second cause truly i wasnt expecting to see it this early.... Anyway so enough about me
This movie is a masterpiece, truly amazing in every word.. I havent seen a movie in which incorporates a lot of feelings into a 2 1/2 hours, until this one... funny, sad, pissed off, happy, amazed, joyful, SHOCKED, all this in one of another is going to pop up in you.... The characters and actors are amazing.. Starting from Rachel, which in this movie you really feel connected to her, in a way a friend, true friend, would be... Harvey.. In him you see someone who can really do a lot of good in a courtroom instead of beign outside kicking people asses. Great performance by Aaron and is true what people have said out there, you truly feel sorry and pitty for him. In one way he didnt want it to be two-face and u can REALLY sense his pain, and i will go further as to feel it.... Alfred is amazing as always. He cares about bruce a lot. You can see that in this movie, just like in begins, he's trying to talk bruce out of the batman idea, NOT directly, but with words... Gordon, still a little reserved, respect and is thankful for batman to be a hand against crime and corruption. Of course, as a lot of u guys know, that doesnt last long. From maroni to scarecrow all of them, even with little parts, all of them had a purpose in this movie....
Bruce.. God.. Nolan has created a movie so moving so powerful, that is like you can relate in some form with bruce/batman.... In begins you see that he knows that batman WILL be a force for good and he knows that in due time all of gotham will be with him. You can't say the same thing on this movie... You feel the weight of gotham in his shoulder. He knows that he will be back to "normal", thanks in part by 2 people, and most of all he knows that he will be with rachel, after batman is done.. Anyone can relate to that in some way or another.... Bruce have faith that in the end he will no longer be batman. When the movie is over for u guys, u can be damn sure, that when he was little and he fall into that hole and all the bats came after him, that was his fate, to be batman, to be some sort of securty for the people of gotham, to be an enemy against corruption, to be feared by a lot of people... Bruce realized that he created something that will never be broken, not even after death.... Anyway u guys get my point.. this movie was so good..
Joker... Everything that was said about heath and joker is true... This joker will be remember in 10 20 30 years from now.... He's an iconic figure in this movie... And im glad that... well let's say that i had concerns about joker, and im glad
he doesnt die so i expect another great actor to take the role
....
The most surprising thing was that i thought, thanks to the virals, reviews etc, that joker was gonna be the center of this movie... NOP bruce/batman is.. and that put a smile on my face ....
This movie will grab you and will never let you go.... Once the credits start rolling, the only thing that will be in you mind is, that in part u changed forever, that it took a lot time for you to see this masterpiece, that after all the spoilers and high expectations this movie took you by surprise at how AWESOME is, that chances are that you will see this movie at leat 2 more times(like me), and at the end after a lot of emotions went through your mind and soul that only question remains....
the guy makes it sound like a cliff hanger ending. and what's up w/ the part where he says something like "batman knows he will 1 day have a normal life cause rachel will be there waiting"? or something like that?

Not necessarily. At least Batman fell down dozens of floors, was probably winded when he reached the ground, and the Joker easily could have left through a back or side door. How does anyone tie a dead body to a flagpole on a public building and then get down without being noticed?

My favorite part is where he said Alfred was still trying to talk Bruce out of being Batman, when he was doing the opposite. Hell, that was a horrible prediction to make in the first place, since Alfred was even encouraging him in the first trailer.

Its not like the guy that did it would have an indicator pointing at them. I doubt the Joker would do it himself considering Gordon an the Commissioner could have the building shut down so know one gets in or out. For all we know it could of been a goon of jokers who worked at the building itself, but like I said its possible that he was rigged to fall there since we never saw the flagpole that was in the concept art. Without seeing what he fell from its tough to call an makes alot more options available to anyone's interpretation
hey guys, sorry if this has been asked before, but why was scarecrow in this movie? that's the one thing that feels totally out of place since he's only in it for a couple of minutes. would have been better if it was just an ordinary criminal. seems like they just threw him in because they could.

It was to give closure to his story from Batman Begins, since he was running around loose at the end of that film. If they hadn't put him in there, people would be wondering what the heck happened to him.

Well, they were dragging around a dead guy dressed as Batman with a painted face.

Yeah, I figured it was one of his goons who did it. The Joker probably doesn't go out in public often.

I figured Brian was either remotely rigged to fall, or they threw him and then ziplined to another building before the panic subsided. There are many ways.
The line that one character (I think it was Reinhart) would say to Blade "Can you blush?" (He also said his father said that to her mother before he killed her)
What does that mean exactly? Totally reminds me of "Why so serious?"
That is a tenet of some racist "religons", that the name "Adam", as in the first man, translates from whatever language into English as meaning "blood in the face", or, in other words, being able to blush noticably. According to their contention, that means white people only, as blushing is not noticable on black skin. Therefore, black people are not "Sons of Adam", therefore not human. So I would say asking him can he blush was definitely meant as a racist remark.
Oh Ok then, I thought it could be that too. I remember though that in the end when he (Reinhart) was saying "Like my father said right before he killed my mom, 'wanna get things done gotta do it yourself', he also said.. (Can you blush?)" I guess he was probably just messing with Blade then. But I always thought of that line of poking fun at how serious Blade always is "Can you crack a smile?" "Can you laugh?", like that. Didn't think it was a race thing since there were other black members in his own crew. The only reason I'm bringing up Blade II is because David S. Goyer has his writing attached to both. So don't ridicule me just yet
I've been reading the last 10 pages. Interesting points brought up. Some things I didn't even consider before.
One thing brought up made me laugh, and that was the possibility that The Joker was on drugs. Now I don't think so, but I work as a teacher's aid and I let a student borrow my DVD of the film over vacation. When we got back, he told me his mother said that if that story was real, the Joker would be put on meds. t:
when Gordon and the mayor are talking in the mayor's office after the Joker's threat and the conversation goes:
Mayor: "What about land routes East?"
Gordon: "They're backed up for hours..."
Gotham is an east coast city... Wouldn't land routes away from the city be west? Land routes east would go into the Atlantic Ocean...wouldn't they? Did Nolan mess up the geography of where Gotham is on the map? I know we saw an ariel shot of the city with the water on the left... Making it a west coast city but I figured it was a shot looking south... Maybe it was looking north and Nolan got it wrong.
It depends on how the nearby land mass is configured and where Gotham bay is located in relation to the city itself. If you think a bit, it's quite easy to see how an eastern city could have land routes to the east if there is , for example, some sort of peninsular land mass east of the city. It's not that hard to figure.
maybe he was only evacuating the main part of gotham, and he was considering the docks as an option. if so that would be like the reverse of bb but it seems kinda unlikely that that was why he said go east.
just chock this 1 up as a Minor geographical error!!
