The Dark Knight THE DARK KNIGHT crowd reports!

Midnight show at the IMAX in Council Bluffs, IA. Completely sold out, and the crowd was energetic and fun! News crews were everywhere, a new comic book store was present, handing out free Batman comics and throwing free t-shirts into the audience, and a local radio station was there...Here's coverage of it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOPtOZBnhXQ

A lot of kids dressed up, mostly Jokers, but a couple Two-Faces.

I was at a fairly new amc 16 theater in So Cal. They sold out 14 of the theaters by nights-end...well over 3,000 people watching TDK all at once. Crowd was nuts!

Our crowd was good here in Irvine. We did the stereotypical SoCal beach ball bounce around the theatre. Some people quieted the crowd and asked if we could do a moment of silence for Heath before we started, that was a nice touch.

The crowd was respectful and had a lot of fun. Clapping and laughing when appropriate.

When we learned Gordon was still alive, big time applause.

During the ending credits, Heath Ledger's name got big applause, as did the tribute.

There was a Tribute?

the crowd was kinda big.but many pre order their tickets so there wasnt many ppl.Even the governor was there.

I saw TDK for a second time tonight (at a different theater than before) and all of the shows for the rest of the night were SOLD OUT!

I've seen it 3 times today.

1st = morning about 15 people. No real reactions.
2nd = afternoon about 30 people. A lot more reactions.
3rd = evening theater packed. Lots of reactions and clapping at the end.

I got to the theater about 30 minutes before the the movie started and it was already half full. The crowd really seemed to be into the movie, laughing at the appropriate (and not so appropriate) times and everyone gasp at the Joker's magic trick and "Oooed" at Batman dropping Maroni. The movie did get an applause from the crowd at the end. Quite a few stayed during the end credits. Oh, the crowd loved the bat-pod.

While I was leaving the theater I noticed a huge crowd lineup waiting to see movie.

I just got back from the 8:00pm showing and it was packed SOLD OUT!!! The crowd reacted at all the right places. They oo and awed at the magic trick scene. Laughed when the joker said You complete me! and when he was dressed up as a nurse. Gasped when rachel well you know.. and when you first see two-face. They clapped when batman fliped the truck over and at the end of the movie. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I couldnt help but simile everytime heath was on screen even during the serious parts. I loved the How I got the scars stories they where disturbing really. I lol at the girl sitting beside me who almost spilled her drink when Two-Face was first shown. Simply put Amazing movie and Awesome crowd!!!:woot: (p.s can't wait to see this again Saturday night).

There were 4 people dressed as The Joker 5 including me, 1 Scarecrow and 1 Batman.
Scarecrow, eh? Points for creativity!

When I saw it again today at 12:30, I arrived at the theatre at about noon and coulda snuck into the IMAX. They had NO security but I think the trailers would have just started so it woulda been front row anyways. The regular screen I think was more satisfying than last night's (being second row IMAX) since I got a great seat today.

1: Tuesday, IMAX, back row
2: Thursday, IMAX, front row
3. Friday, Regular, middle

When I was waiting for the movie in the theater at 11:30, I realized just how much I hated teenagers. There never was a better time for a pencil trick...

There was applause at Gordon reappearing, some sobbs at racheal dying, and applause at the end. And it was solid packed (three screens).

I saw TDK twice so far, both at sold out theaters, and both times there was booming applause for Gordon's reappearance.

I wish the lines were a little more civilized and organized at the Spectrum. There were like 25 in front of me when I started to line up, as always I assumed they are also savings spots for their friends etc. But this time it seemed like each group had like 15+ with them. By the time they let us in there were like 100+ people in front of me and people from the back just bummed rush to the front. Hopefully, I can get Bridge tickets for the next IMAX midnight showing which will be HP 6.

But other than that complaint the crowd was awesome, laughed and cheered at the right moments. Usually security gets angry and tries to confiscate the beach balls thrown around in the crowd, but he was chill and even participated in hitting the beach balls around

lots of laughs from playboy Bruce and the Joker throughout the film.

at the end most people applauded and had very positive reactions.

and all the IMAX showings were sold out here so there were basically massive never ending lines throughout the entire day in the theatre.

Finally I am about to go

Theatre is packed

The Hype is about to come full circle for me!

Cya all later!

Local theater's IMAX is sold out till tuesday night.

The three other regular screenings sold out for the night around 7 (even the 12:30 show)

Totally packed theater. Everyone started yelling and cheering when Batman flipped the 18-wheeler over. That was just an awesome scene.

Completely packed theater. Audience reception and reactions were perfect. The one scene that got everyone was the dead Batman. That freaked out a 10 year old 6 seats over from me to the point where he started crying and had to leave.

The whole theater (myself included) almost jumped right out of our seats when that happened!

Saw it today at 7pm and it was pretty packed, when it was over there was a line forming for the 10:30pm showing.
