I asked this in the PlotHole thread, but no one answered. (sorry if it has been asked before.)

How did Batman know where to go to look for Harvey? Joker only said he'd let Harvey go.
Well you can assume Batman listened to police communications. There are multiple instances throughout the film where it appears he has done this. He arrives at the vault after the Joker has robbed it, goes to the "Dent" and "Harvey" double murder crime scene and then at the end goes to 250 52nd street. Presumably each of those times he knew where to go due to police communications. Regarding the scene you're talking about, Gordon and Two Face talk about the backup arriving. Obviously they got a directive from Gordon - he states "they only know there's a situation". They would've got a call from Gordon and Batman would have heard it.

Gordon didn't tell anyone where he was going. You can see it in the scene where he's talking to Harvey on the phone, one of the SWAT snipers overhears Gordon's conversation with Dent about his family being in danger. It was most probably him who had alerted the rest of GCPD.

It's possible. Having said that, the SWAT member wouldn't know the location as he only heard Gordon's side of the call and Gordon is at least in the position to have the power to order resources to the location. Keeping that in mind, it was most likely Gordon who issued the order and told them when they arrived to form a perimeter only so as not to endanger his family.

Either way it's conjecture as it happened off-screen. To me it just seems more likely Gordon was responsible for the order.

Or, the SWAT team leader understood Gordon's family was in trouble when he suddenly saw the color of Gordon's face going "Harvey? Where's my family" and had somebody follow him.

I took it from the dialogue that Gordon told his men to set up around the area.

I watched TDK for the second time yesterday.

..Tried to get in the Imax screening, but every showing in my Imax screen sells out.
Crazy. After 3 weeks of release in the UK. So 2nd time round I actually liked the film a lot more. I really like Bale's low Batman voice, and I think the hand to hand combat is noticeably clearer in TDK. The first action scene pretty much makes me geek out. I love the Begins suit and it's a great entrance for the Bat. In some ways it reminds me of Bat's taking on the mimes in BR, only this Batman is way harder.

This time I understood the plot more, so it was more rewarding.
Other notes- On a regular screen the swooping city shots pale in comparison to the Imax, and I also got a lot more out of the Tumbler chase by paying attention to what was going on this time.

The only thing I would really change in this film is that I would have preferred if Dent got acid to the face in court. That would have been way cooler than the oil drums and fire. It could have still been orchestrated by Joker.

I REAALLLYY hope Wayne Manor is up and running in the next film.
I'm aiming to beat my multiple viewings record of 8 for Spider-man with TDK.

It was established early on in the movie that he listen to Police scanners when he was top of the building in Gotham.

Well i finally got to watch the "dark knight" it was a good movie..i give it an "8", my bad points: I hate C.Bale as "batman"...his voice is the worst and i never believed him as batman since "batman begins". I do think this movie is alittle overhyped personally. I enjoy'd "300", spiderman 1 more then this movie..but the positives; it's a good movie....well written, i almost think this movie could stand alone without any of the comic book characters....it was just written that well! Ledger was great as the joker...oscar quality...ahh i don't think so, i dont think any comic book character preformed by an actor or actress is oscar quality but that's just my opinion.....but i was amazed at his protrail as the joker, it was great..actually " the joker" and the scenes with "the joker "were my favorite scenes in the movie.....:brucebat: 8/10 good movie!

That was a great shot, and I believe it was Bale and not a stunt man.

How can you hate Bale at Batman?

He is the only actor to date who has been able to encapsulate the physicality of the character.

I think his quite Batman voice is perfect.

yea what is this geezer talking about? no comic book character should get a oscar? so you judge peoples performances on the genre they are in? i'm not jumping on the heath band-wagon but i seriously doubt there will be a performance to top his joker this year, in any genre.

Yeah it was Bale. He was determined to do his own stunt, when he realized it would involve standing on the edge of the Sears Tower.

Michael Keaton did it better. Watch Keaton at the start of Returns, where the Clown grabs Selina. Batman climbs out of the Batmobile, another clown drives past on a bike, and Keaton backhandedly SMACKS him out of the way....that is Batman. Bale does it fine, but Keaton puts an anger into his physicality.

Or, another way; Bale is all about the mission, the gameplan, I have to do A because it leads to B and C. Now Batman is a strategist, and I am all for this. But Keaton's Batman is just a f***ing moody, spooky, whispery badass vigilante borderline-psycho.

i dont agree with that. bales batman is also fighting like that. but nolan never focuses slowly on hes face. basicly nolan never does a ''cool'' punch. he jumps like a dog on the badguys.

but on the other hand i liked the scene in BR. keaton was IMO a great batman. i was a big fan.

^haha yea i've just remembered that! yea keaton was cool but i mean he wernt exactly physically like bruce wayne. bruce wayne is very athletic and well built, but keaton was just a scrawny little runt, bale could actually look after himself in a punch up.

Keaton did not do it better.

I LOVE the Burtman movies, but Keaton's Batman fighting is unrealistic to anyone with half an understanding of street fighting or martial arts. Keaton's power is mostly generated all from his shoulders. That is not how you throw a punch. Silly back handed blows that look cool, but would not knock a man down in real life. In the first fight scene in TDK you can see that Batman uses his whole body and hips to generate the power of his blows. He looks much more fearsome, and the fighting looks more like real punches being thrown and less like a ballet. Beyond this, Keaton was a short ass runt and you can see this is many a seen in Batman and BR.

Yeah, it was all highly stylized and looked cool, but there was not much substance in there. Also Batman does not kill people!

On the other hand Bale's Batman does more detective stuff ANNNDDDD he is bigger, more intimidating, and clearly a better fighter.

Sorry but Bale is the real Batman not Keaton.

Keaton brought a great brooding presence to the role, but he did not have the physicality required to totally pull off Batman.

simple...i dont like him as batman...i thought m.keaton and tim burton version of batman is better then this batman.....u may think c.bales voice was perfect..but there was times n this move i didnt even have to pay attention to the scene and hear the voice and cringe.....it was awful....

"geezer" do u even know how old am i?...and tell mewhat comic book character protrayed by an actor or actress did win one? I'm asking cuz i dont know or can't remember anyone gettin one?

Realistic? In a movie?

Alfred: Oh, you have no idea!

I.e. most of the audience.

It doesn't matter at all how well it would work in real life, only if it works effectively in the movie. It's an art form, not a documentary on martial arts.

all say this....and i know i'm more then likely in the minority of one, me. But i didnt think they should of taken "batman" back to the beginning, why? Most fans know the story and i think were happy with Burton's version of the story, it was only the last few hollywood versions of "batman" that totally messed everything up. I would of been more "on board" with this batman if they did a "batman beyond" type theme...just bring it to the future...most of us, the audience..seen batman in the beginning with the joker, catwoman and two face..and now we are being spoon fed with it again..this time someone else version or vision.

Man.... impress me more by taken the story beyond what we already know and seen..like it's been said...bring in new characters that aren't so familiar with the common audience like a "dead shot" or "poison ivy"...for instance.....i mean, i like the idea that they started off "batman begins" with "scarecrow" for a villain, but now we are recycling characters; the joker, now the riddler and catwomen..dont get me wrong i'm glad to have seen ledger's version of the joker it was brillant!!!..but my main "rant" if u will is. These writers and directions to taken the character and story of batman..beyond what we already seen on film.

like the plot beyond "batman beyond" the cartoon was cool...the fact that the batman we all know, and even our fathers know..gotten old and couldnt crime fight anymore...i mean that's believable since he isn't a martian like superman..so to speak....i'm not sayin bring the cartoon into real life action i'm jsut saying....taken it beyond what we already know..

well i dont think there has been one, but you say it like someone who plays a comicbook character WILL NEVER get one. i'm saying people should be judged on their performance not the genre that they are performing in. so if no one beats heaths performance this year which i doubt anyone will, you say he wont get a oscar because its a comicbook character? you talking wet.
