'DAWN OF MARVELS' RPG Application

Character You Would Like To Play: Scott Summers/Cyclops

Powers:
Optic Blast, Spatial Awareness:Cyclops seems to possess an uncanny sense of trigonometry, in this sense used to describe his observation of objects around himself and the angles found between surfaces of these objects. Cyclops has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to cause his optic blasts to ricochet and/or reflect off those objects in a trajectory to his liking. This is commonly called a "banked shot" when applied to this talent. Cyclops has been observed causing beams to reflect from over a dozen surfaces in the course of one blast, and still hit his intended target accurately. It is his sense of superhumanly enhanced spatial awareness that allows him to perform these feats as well., Energy Resistance Cyclops is resistant to most energies.

Abilites: Scott is a fair pilot, a decent field leader, and proves to be adepth at martial arts.

Basic History Of The Character (Up until this point):
Scott Summers was the older of the two sons of Major Christopher Summers, a test pilot in the U. S. Air Force. When Scott was a child, Major Summers flew himself, his wife Katherine, and his sons Scott and Alex back from a vacation in his vintage private plane. The plane's engines failed and Katherine pushed Scott and Alex out the plane door with the only available parachute. The parachute was unable to slow their fall sufficiently to prevent Scott from suffering a head injury on landing. Scott and Alex were orphans, they were seperated and Scott was sent to a orphanage.

When Scott hit puberty his mutant power kicked in, optic blast flew out of his eyes and destroyed the orphanage wall. Scott spent the next five years with his eyes closed, afraid to open them again. Until a man named Charles Xavier came into his life and opend his eyes. A few year later Scott codenamed Cyclops has emerged as the field leader of The X-Men, Psylocke, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, and Colossus.

1. I like to play boyscouts, so sue me.

2. I've only played an X-Man once. I want to try to play their leader.

3. With two other posters on board and another one thinking about it. I hope the X-Men stay strong.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Most times you see Cyclops. He's the straight-laced do gooder. I want to show him as being a little wicked with his thoughts, although he won't act on them.

Two Complete Sentences In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I can bring a decent RPer who's been at the RPing game for a year or so. I can also bring, money, booze, and women.

"Colossus reporting, area is clear."

"Psylocke here, I got zippo."

I let down my guard a little, that's when the giant robot rises up from the headge.

"Storm, give me some cover!"

Ororo does her job, as storm clouds cover the area and lightning reigns on this 'sentinel' bot. I let an optic blast loose and it strikes the sentinel dead in his chest.

"Clear the area, he's coming down hard."

The sentinel falls foward, heading right for me.

"This is gonna hurt..."

The Sentinel stops in the air. Jean hovers over me with a smile.

"Need some help?"

I feel my face turn red. She's a mind reader....pure thoughts, must keep thoughts pure.

Well, what's your premise for the X-Men? I mean, I'd assume that they're Xaivier's students, but have they already graduated? Are they still in school? Are they what you'd call super heroes, or simply very pro-active political activists? Or both?

I say add Colossus or Iceman. Iceman is an orignal X-Man and Colossus is my favorite X-Man. I'd rather see Piotr, change things up a little.

Don't know how Charlie's doing it, but Cyclops is somewhere around 19 or 20. He'd be out of school. Well, High School.

I want to portray him without the blue furryness for a while too, and then lead into the lab experiment gone wrong.

Wolverine is about 400+ years old, and remember we decided that we'd do this like X-Men evolution in the fact that Wolverine is the Senior X-Man and leader until Cyclops is made full-time member.

I'm still not sure of the overall premise for your version of the X-Men. And, also, 400? Why the age increase?

Why not be the leader, not just because he is older, but just because X thought Wolvie was the better one for the job? That way, later, there could be a story about Cyclops taking that away from Wolvie. Plus, there is no way Jean would be romantically involved with anyone who is 400 years old.

Powers: Peak Human physical condition, expert tacticion

Basic History Of The Character (Up until this point): Drafted by the army during the WWII era, he was not allowed in because of a degenrative bone condition. Taken to a secret government lab after pleading to be allowed into the army, at a time when most draftees were pleading to be out, the US Govt figured he would be a great propaganda machine. The first successful progect of Weapons PLus, the US tailored Cap's exploits for immediate instant success. Upon finding out what was going on at the same time he discovered a secret plot by Johann Schmidt to up the ante by engaging in a new kind of warfare, Cap sacrificed himself to stop the Atomic weapon and sending the information back to the US

His body has not yet been recovered.

The Shield strapped to my back, i climbed up the atomic warhead, racing against time. My only chance was to get to its guidance systems. This would be bad. Really bad, if it didn't work.

Sure it be easy to think it was being launched against the United States. Thats what an opposing force does right?

Wrong.

The Germans saw this as their chance. Launch a commandeered Unites States bomb, retrofitted with atomic technologies against Britian. Launch it from Russia.

The allies turn on eachother as everyone is fearful of the United States new weapon. A self guided, self-propelled atomic bomb that the country was not afraid to use on its allies.

I had to stop it.

The world depended on it. I reached the control panel as the nuke was flying over the icy Russian gulags and pummeled my shield into the guidance system.

The Russians saw this as their chance. WIth so much anti-war sentinement in the US, they didnt think they'd want to fight Nam and the USSR. Enter ex-communicated German general Johann Schmidt with his proposal. Nuke Russia. They would be immediately drawn into the fray and attack the US.

Everyone wins. Except us. Except America.

Powers: The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets. Super strength, leaping ability, endurabce, resistance to injury.

Basic History Of The Character (Up until this point): Brilliant MIT graduate Bruce Banner, and pioneer in gamma radiation research, was recruited to design a gamma weapon for the US military.

The first attempt at a controlled destination went terribly wrong, and banner was caught in the blast.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1. I like being Green.

2. With world war hulk coming out there will be hulk mania.

3. I want a walking the line character.

Destroying cities. Creating a unique bond with Steve Rogers. Forming the Avengers?
