Character You Would Like To Play: Mandarin
Powers: None of his own, distinguishing between legend and fact is hard for people to do....
Basic History Of The Character (Up until this point): A huge advocate of ideal communism, the man known only as ‘The Mandarin’ formed a resistance against the corruption in Chinese communism, an underground movement intent on delivering equality and true values of communism to the oppressed people.
He became a legend among the people, and a feared revolutionary to the government. The leaders portrayed him as a terrorist, who should not be trusted, and went as far as setting up bombs and blaming them on him.
Increasing pressures to keep up with western capitalism resulted in China’s ‘semi-communism’. Capitalism further damaging the ideals of equality that The Mandarin held in such high regard. He began to loathe the way in which the world was becoming, the divide of wealth and power favouring but a few. He hated both his home country for it’s corruption and failure to realise the communistic dream, and the world at large because it’s tyranny and inequality.
Soon he found himself driven out of China, who faked his death in the general media, leaving him as deceased in the records, and dead to the hearts of the people as a dead myth.
The Mandarin wanted to return to his people, and bring equality and an end to corruption. Also he wanted to destroy those which perpetuates inequality in the world, America being the biggest contributor. For after he brought America to it’s knees and it became an egalitarian country displaying ideal communism, then he would be able to show the rest of the world the way forward.
The brief few who he was in contact with lost touch, and soon he vanished into obscurity, unable to do anything much as it was. Years past without a trace.
Several years later, from out of obscurity and non-existence he became an urban legend, some say he was indestructible and came back from the dead. Others claimed he caused earthquakes, stopped river flows, controlled the weather and could lift mountains. However this sort of speculation was merely perpetuating myths and legends that he himself created. He was now a ghost, no-one knew what he looked like, all they saw was the wake of his arrival. The damage to capitalist structures, people and corruption being rooted out. It was unclear what had happened to him while he disappeared, or where he found his new found invigoration and skills at destruction, some thought he had trained with internet hackers and bomb experts, other’s claimed he was a magician or possible deity. His constant penchant for jewellery, particularly ten rings, one on each finger earned him further intrigue, dubbed “the ten rings of Mandarin” a legacy was born.

1. Well I can beat Byrd’s ass.
2. Bring a new element to the character, adding realism and something less silly to a potentially wonderful character. And then beating Byrd’s ass with him.
3. I want to be in this RPG and doing something knew, this is a good idea I feel and more villains are always needed in these new RPG’s. Did I mention Beating Byrd’s ass?
