especially when older bats cracked a smile...

it's funny how clark inherits a world he never really lived on in his dreams and all bats wants in his folks and it's supes that goes crazy and not clark...

I dont know...I kinda like the Hawk and Dove ep.

Well respectfully, it was a little too effeminate for my tastes. Not because of Wonder Woman but one of those other guys.

An old SNL skit kept coming back to mind as I watched this ep. :whatever:

Joker said it best...

The Joker: What's the matter, Batman? No witty comeback? No threat? Then I'll provide the narration...
[the screen flickers to life and "Our Home Movies" appears]

The Joker: I'll begin with how I peeled back the layers of the boy's mind. Oh, he bravely tried to fight it at first. You would've been proud to see him so strong.

[on the screen, the home video of Joker electrocuting Robin appears]
The Joker: But all too soon, the shocks and the serums took their toll, and the boy began to share such secrets with me. Secrets that are mine alone to know... Bruce. It's true, Batsy! I know everything. And kinda like the kid who peeks at his Christmas presents, I must admit, it's sadly anti-climactic. Behind all the sturm and bat-o-rangs, you're just a little boy in a playsuit, crying for mommy and daddy! It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic.
[pause]

The Joker: Oh, what the heck, I'll laugh anyway. HA HA HA HA HA HAA!

I remember my son seeing that for the first time some years ago and being disturbed with that Tim Drake scene. To be honest, I was a little rattled myself for its audacity.

Why should I have been surprised that Timm & Co. pushed the envelope like that for a kid's cartoon?

I actually loved Clash, finally showed supes had a pair but seeing as Captain is Magic based he should have owned him. The Captain Atom fight is easily the most underrated in the series.
I loved how the Captain Atom/Superman fight was presented. Superman was clearly gonna kick his ass, but he was so sad about it because he understood that Atom was just doing his duty.

What is everyones thought on Static being in the DCAU?

I'm excited for it. I may even pick Teen Titans back up to read Static's big debut, even though I'm pretty scared of how badly Sean McKeever will screw it up.

Do you mean Static returning to another animated series or the comic book?

Comics. Milestone characters are going to be appearing in DC comics now, thanks to some kind of deal McDuffie struck with DC.

Icon? Blood Syndicate? Hardware? They're returning?

Yes, I'm very excited. :word:

Icon, the Shadow Cabinet, and I think Hardware are going to appear in JLA. They and Static in Teen Titans are the only Milestone character debuts I've heard of.

Static in Titans should make for an interesting read.

In TNBA episode of LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT, was Timm or Dini poking fun at Joel Schumacher with that kid playing with the furcoat?

I remember one of the kids called him "Joel" and he had the same type hairstyle. I was looking at the commentary for that show on the BTAS Vol. 4 DVD and they never mentioned it when that scene came up.

Well actually both...I loved him in Batman Beyond and JLU's future. Static in Teen Titians is going to be sweet...Im going start picking it up again.

Could be:hehe:

I never really thought about it.

I didn't pay much attention to it either 10 years ago when it aired but the reason why I was wondering is because "Joel" was getting turned on by saying Batman may have an all-leather costume with nipples or something to that effect while flipping a bang of his hair. :funny:

I mean, that's a pretty bold jab. :funny:

EDIT: I was lucky enough to find a clip of it. Apparently it's true:

Yea that is Joel to a tee:o

They should let Timm do The Dark Knight Returns with Michael Ironside:o

That would be cool but I'd want Timm to do a Knightfall/Knightquest animated feature. Introduce Azrael and have him take the mantle of the Bat until Bruce heals from his back being broken.

I want to see Jean Paul Valley descend into madness as he does the things that Batman won't do.

It'd be kind of hard trying to condense that all into 70-75 minutes; may have to do a new series to get that all in.

Knightfall/Knightquest/Knightsend would be great if they could make sure Nightwing's involved. With the WB's weird restrictions on using characters in multiple productions and The Graysons in development, they might withhold Dick from a Knightfall movie and, quite frankly, it would be impossible to do a good Knightfall movie without him. The crux of the conflict in Knightfall, in my opinion, is Bruce's lack of faith in Dick to take on the mantle and the disaster it causes, so Dick and Azrael should basically be the main players.

Corp you hit this square on jaw...I hated the way WB restricted Nightwing and Tim Drake. What could have been a great JLU ep would have been the Outsiders.

Also no Black Lightning or any other Milestone heroes were allow. Think about JLU could have gone on for at least 3 to 4 more years.
