I agree. I was disappointed when I heard "Destroyer" would be the last episode.

The beauty is that a new show wouldnt have to be called JLU...you could call DC Universe or something.

There are so many heroes and villians that have yet to be seen animated.

The main problem I see here is WB and Cartoon Network. They dropped the ball on Teen Titans, the dumber than life bat embargo, not using all the Milestone heroes and villians in Static Shock, the list goes on.

Well, the Static thing was probably the creators' doing. Milestone's characters are all creator-owned. Dwayne McDuffie, who created Static, worked for WB on JLU and Static Shock itself, so he obviously gave his permission for the character to be used. Other Milestone creators presumably haven't given their permission until just recently, allowing the Milestone characters to come to DC's comics.

Which may or may not end up a deal with the devil type of issue.

Also no Black Lightning or any other Milestone heroes were allow. Think about JLU could have gone on for at least 3 to 4 more years.

You did get Black Lightning...well, sort of. He was the Black Vulcan knock-off from the Ulti-Men? You got BL's archvillian Tobias Whale but you know him better as Mandrigora from JLU.

From speaking with BL creator Tony Isabella a year ago, there are still some touchy litigation issues going on with his creation and he claims DC still owes him money from the 70s. There are certain instances where the character is used in the comics though. I didn't pursue asking him any further about it though.

The last time I talk to him the higher ups at WB would not allow him to use Icon and the rest.

BL is a favorite of mine and its sad I had to see Juice to get BL. Hell McD had to create Soul Power cuz he couldnt use BL...brother cant get a break:cmad:

Really, Warner Bros. owns the Milestone characters too?

Not at the time but the higher up wouldnt green light scripts with Hardware or Icon that was all he could tell me. The higher ups also wouldnt allow him to use BL either.

I have all of the old issues from my kiddie days. BL is indeed a cool character who hasn't gotten much justice IMO.

You do know that during the 70s, the Hanna-Barbera/WB character Black Vulcan was created just to skirt around paying Isabella any type of royalties for Black Lightning?

He's still pissed over that. I'd imagine I would be...

Which baffles me just pay him jeez DC is still making its money...I so want a BL action figure.

What the hell? That's weird. :o

Well since WB owns CN and Kids Wb I would say they had a lot imput on how the show would be green lighted...the joys of playing hardball.

And as for Teen Titans they could have used Tim Drake and still keep it for kids with out that crappy anime designs.

I'm all for a DCAU version of Birds of Prey. The main stars would obviously be Huntress and Black Canary, with a non-paralysed-no-mask Barbara Gordon doing the Oracle thing. Having these characters also involves people like Green Arrow, the Question, Nightwing and 'honorary' Birds like Hawkgirl or Zatanna. Maybe Lady Shiva or Mary Marvel would appear.

Then of course, it would be based in Gotham and feature Batman's rogues and the Dark Knight himself.

Because of her being not paralyzed as Commish in Batman Beyond.

Oh, right, Batman Beyond counts for animated continuity. Meh, you know what, just toss it and make her paralyzed anyway. They rebooted Batman's animated continuity once already with The Batman. Why not do it for something good this time?

I'd prefer it it could work within the BTAS/STAS/JL/JLU universe since JLU shouldn't have been the last we saw of those incarnations.

Plus, it was the future. They could have cured paralysis at some point. Did you see anybody in a wheel chair in that future? Like Static said, 60's the new 20 or whatever.

"60's is the new 40...but I'm liking this idea some thing like Gotham Girls.

There was supposed to be a Birds of Prey episode for JLU with Barbara getting injured while hunting down some bad guy and then becoming Oracle, but that got scrapped.

Really? Wasnt the Bat-embargo in full effect at the point? Why would it even be planned?
